But Juneau: With apologies to Regina, John and Michael, I'm sweetieing.

That's it. Under false pretensise I thought, I was semi good. Guess what, I suck. Two weeks of bs. 12, 13, 14 and over and out in freerolls.

Say what you will about numbers. Yellow submarine doesn't win two 200-15 events cause of his good looks. Johnnie Chan don't win a hand cause he bet right. He won it cause he's Johnnie Chan. Hollywood can beat up on chainsaw and assassain and macademian nuts. He's still goina win. Some got it. Some don't. A man has got to know his limitations. Either you gots it or you don't. If you can't win in freerolls. Well then, there is a message somewhere. I've got a commitement to two live based events later this year, but..........I'll miss brickabrackin with some posters and some don't know how to take me, but that's okay, because, beside the alcoholism and the gamblin, I think I got hit on the head.and it's time to know when you gots it or you don't. Man youse guys that win all the time! Keep it up. But, you won't be getting your highs off my lows, Boo. hoo, hoo. Somethings just ain't meant to be. Better I stop the construction of a Super Highway thru my neighborhood than keep up this frustration. And I apologize for the over the top cryin.
but, Juneau. sometimes you just Juneau.

    Stop it!

Snap out of it will ya! Stop feeling sorry for yourself and get signed up to another freeroll. What happens when you fall off a horse? Do you crawl into a corner all foetal-like and weep into your jodhpurs? Of course you don't. You get right back up and try again. So what if you fall off 78 times, the 79th time might be a Derby winner. Whatever. It's all about mental toughness my friend. Don't let the demons tell you that you ain't got it.

    Cheers

    Noman, I feel your pain.
Here's a list of my Bet21 play from Oct 17th to Oct 21st.

Bottom line: I played 24 tables, and paid $1200 in entry fees.
I had two wins and one second place, all in the smaller games.
I collected $259 in prizes, for a net loss of $941.

Noman, get back in the saddle. We all lose, frequently, and painfully. It's part of the game.

    Realities

Yes noman, these are the realities of life as a freeroller. Get yourself to a real B&M casino and make some bread. End this needless pain now! :)

PS: Just kidding of course. Keep at it if that's what you enjoy. I want to see you on TV (with fresh underwear, of course :D ) so I can know what you look like. When you do win on TV, are you going to hand out Twinkies to the other players and the peanut gallery?

    Norm,

We could have used you over at Golden Palace ...there are free rolls there...there are high equity events ...

You might snap the loosing streak...heck Ill match my last year with anyone if its loosing your talking about...

Tonight we couldnt raise 50 people willing to put up 13 dollars for a guarenteed $2,500 dollar payout!!!!!!

    Can you imagine that?

I dont know what people are thinking...

    Thats big time equity.

    Thanks Ken

Nice of you to post your on-line record - we all go through dead periods when the cards don't work for us - and we keep losing - good to share that - so people don't get discouraged by the losing streaks - and even the best have them - as you showed

    Noman

I have been playing the feeder freerolls to get into the qualifiers for the TV/LA tourneys - getting to the semi-finals - then the cards don't work for me - and I crash out - very, very frustrating - did it again tonight in the UBT tourney - then - got through in the Bet21.net tourney - everything just worked - miracle - but that's how it goes - so I get to play with a few hundred others on Nov 9

every time I start getting down - with the losing streaks - I keep thinking - wait a minute - I have a PROFIT from this stuff - I can't be THAT bad! - of course - I may well be THAT bad - but there are many others even worse - so - the final tables come through enough to keep me going

just remember - 99% of all bj players don't know basic strategy - and 99% of those who do know basic strategy can't do even a simple hi-low count - and 99% of those who can do a simple count have not a clue as to tournament strategy - so - just being a surfer on this site, and playing with a little skill and strategy, puts us all into a rarified elite of players - and we will win out in the long run

so when you get down - just keep going - the variance will come YOUR way eventually

    reassured

Ken - Your post has made me feel so much better. Thanks :). I still entertain the idea that I might make one of these UBT events one way or another (Paris April 20-25th would be excellent as it would be my birthday) and your record makes me look on mine in a different light.

RKuczek - You don't count at bet21 do you? I thought there was a shuffle after every hand. Or are you just talking generally about counting?

    Cheers

    Oh Noman

    Pleeeaaassseee,

Give me a break here. All you've done is go skinny dipping in the cement pond. So you bust out of a few freerolls - big deal. You want to win, sit at my table.

What Ken Smith neglected to post is his second place finish came when he watched me, quite painfully on the chat button, get timed out and bet min when I was very very very low BL. - unfortunately I must love to give free money away!

So you're in a small rut - I've been in the EBJ version of death valley for the past week - I was ready to throw in the towel. It got so bad for me that I wanted to actually go back and play at BJ21.com - yes that's right I was ready to kiss off EBJ for good!

Then it happened, suddenly out of nowhere I got the urge, no the impulse, to try one last time. Sure enough, wham bam thank you mam the tables turned and I made it thru the rain.

Keep it up and I'm sure it will happen to you too.

Incidently, just to show you the great maker has a sense of humore, on elimination hand for the first round I had a stiff 12 vs a dealer 6. I had to double down to win. Pulled a duece and the dealer bust.

So you see keep reading those threads and YOU TOO will make it out of your little rut into the EBJ promised land.

I just had a 6-to-5 losing session of heads-up Sit&Gos against someone with some very peculiar ideas about how to play. A particular highlight of the experience was seeing him make a largish bet on the opening round, catch a 20 (with the dealer showing a 10), split his 10s and catch two aces. :flame:

Sometimes I think the Blackjack gods just like to taunt us!

    UBT Tournament Dates

Reachy - Please note that your dates for the Paris UBT, April 20-25th, seems to be in conflict with the Casino City Times publication, October 24, 2006, …”In a perfect Vegas pairing, the Ultimate Blackjack Tour will bring its high-adrenaline, juiced up version of tournament blackjack to the trendsetting Palms Casino Resort as an official UBT tour stop April 20, 2007.”

Confirming with UBT site, the April 20, 2007 to April 25, 2007 dates are slated for Palms Casino.

Might have to do some re-scheduling. Cheers.:)

    Life after tournament entry chips

Don’t you dare leave us Noman.

If it is any consolation to you I was the next one eliminated from our game.

Spent ages after on the kamikaze tables trying to earn the next TEC but alas to no avail. I decided to go over to UB for a Sit and Go and won my $20 table.

Played one game on a $30 table tonight along with Sidekick and Annie Dukes and managed to win that also.

Just when you think you are down, you come back up again.

To quote an earlier post by you “Blackjack is a fickle game”.

    Never give up.

    Droogie.

Hey Noman question for you - didn't you say that religion should be talked about in private? I don't get this:

Aren't you at war with the Sunni's

I don't count at all in tournaments

Reachy - and UBT, BET21 - that whole flock of sites - do shuffle after every hand - counting would do no good - but I can see where an experienced counter - in some games - live tourneys - could use the count to time their moves - and marginally improve their chances - I was just pointing out how really bad most bj players are - how many times have you set at a table and watched insanely bad play? many I bet - and a lot of tournament players are just as bad - and lack any sense of a strategy for tournament play on top of that - you don't need to be good to win money in tournaments - you just need to be not an idiot - then you will do ok in the long run - it is just that not an idiot bj players are extremely rare -

    Okay. Okay.

I just couldn't stay away. Changed my mind. Still some free shots left. Yeah I had plenty of cheese and wine. Wine. Ohhh. Did a crash course at Betty Ford, still trying to figure out the order of the seven steps. Get Step three and five confused.

Saw Hollywoods post on other thread. And Ken's here. Sunni, if those guys as Hollywood says suck a tail pipe, who am I to complain.

And, for reference. I'm not discussing religion, I'm cursing IN religion.
The full mantra goes Shiite, Sunni and Kurd. Kind of like the old fashion JMJ.
You can go to hell for lying and stealing too. Opps, that's religious discussion. MY bad.

I'll try and behave like a MAN. A grown one, maybe. No gaurantees.

And tool: Harrah's Dec. Might even consider The IP in Dec.

Bye the bye, got better earlier tonight, made it into the fifth round at bet21. Still no bannanas, peaches, or pears.

    The place to be?

When the losses pile up? There are losses, aren't there? But we didn't know that, did we?
