OK, I'm disappointed that nobody has asked me about my avatar yet so I'm going to turn it into a competition.

Who is the man in the avatar?

    What is he famous for?

The prize? I'll send a hamper of traditional British delicacies to the first to answer correctly. You've got until the 5th Guys else I won't be fawking out for all those treats!

    Cheers

PS. Andy and Colin - Shhhhhhh!!!!

    Too easy

Reachy, you gave it away in the clue. What do you take us Yanks for anyway?:joker:

I hear he has a holiday (November 5th) named after him. But what is being celebrated--the attempt on the King or the torture/execution?

    Damn!

Well done JR. We'll see whether anybody else gets it but you win. A kingsize hamper of British Delicacies are on their way to you. PM me your address and I'll send you some yeast extract for your toast.

FYI, we actually celebrate his torture and execution.

    Cheers

Yes, good but easy clues :)

The answer is Guy Fawkes--he is known for the failed attempt to assassinate King James 1 as well as both houses of parliament. The failed attempt is also known as the Gunpowder Plot.

    Reachy...Reachy...Reachy.

Re reviewed your visual clues. Are you trying to undermine the U.S. voting public three days before midterms with "Pork Faggots" and "Gentlemen's Relish" and there always was suspicion about Lea and Perrine.

    Balls!

...of meat, that's all they are, faggots that is! And if you notice they are bathed in a West Country Sauce. Mmmmmm! Gentleman's Relish, much loved by the landed gentry is simply a concentrated paste of anchovy. Salty!

As for the mid-terms, the media over here suggests that the Republicans are in for a hard time. Without intending to start a political debate, is that true?

In England, I thought a fag was a cigarette?

    It is!

and a fag-got is a meatball! Although not all meatballs are faggots  Hope that clears it all up for you :) .

Incidentally, a message to Jackaroo, the attached pictures show you how marmite on toast should look when the correct amount of marmite has been applied, and how to use HP sauce (it's the brown blob on the left of the plate)! Like I said use it instead of ketchup.

    Enjoy.

LOL;) You British are a funny bunch with your food names. But I do like HP Sauce....It's got a nice kick to it.

    Specialty Foods:

Reach: Juneau, we have some exotic favorites, especially around the holidays. I'll go out on a limb and speak for everyone that you can't beat Chef's salty chocolate balls. Or one of the traditional favorites is Schvety balls.

Now politics. Who knows. Youse guys might have a better idea over there, being removed and impartial than those here too close to expectations can endure to be reasonable in a prediction.

Just saw the posts - Reachy did you see "V for Vendetta?"

On a political note - who the H*** cares!

    Non

Not seen the film but have read the graphic novel. Why do you want to know? Do they have HP sauce in it?

Incidentally here is another British favourite:

    Reachy,

The NEW avatar - I'm almost afraid to ask! Any clues? Certainly NOT a Thanksgiving theme!

Lets have a MONTHLY guess Reachy's avatar contest.

BTW the Borat movie opened #1 here in the States - please DON'T bring that one back!

Will you bring back Bond, James Bond, in honor of the new Casino Royale opening in theaters here on November 17?

    No clues...

...yet. Oh OK then, another one... Alan Moore! Does that help? Hopefully a little more obscure than my last clues.
