Default Tunica Roadhouse Tournament

This is a first for Tunica Roadhouse, so I am posting the rules that were distributed. Accumulation format, with a buy in for additional chips in second round if desired. This was primarily an invitational tournament to local players, however they did let buyins to public. Rules said they could limit public to ten participants, although rules were flexible about this. Total participation limited to 147, so at $20 per entry if paid (most were comped) this was a terrific overlay and all cash guaranteed purse.

Not sure of exact number of players, but somewhere around 100, so this was even better considering 49 players (top 45 and 4 wildcards) go to semifinal round. My guess is 90% were non blackjack tournament players (with some never have played blackjack before at all).

Cutoff for top 45 turned out to be 5150.

They did not post scores at all during tournament, so you didn't know how you stood until wildcard drawing for semifinals when they announced the cutoff and the top 45 players.

Being a first tournament for the casino and dealers, lots of misdeals and out of order play. On my table first two deals were misdeals. First time they should have just backed up cards, but pit supervisor called it dead and discarded all cards. Second hand the rules called for dead, but the supervisor instead backed cards up and continued play. Third hand misdealt again, so they switched dealer who at least didn't have any misdeals the rest of the round. Second and semifinal rounds had at least one or two misdeals in them as well at my table. Makes you appreciate dealers who are experienced at dealing tournaments with rotating button position.

Anway, aside from the poor playing conditions, it was well worth the try for the money.
