Thumbs up Las Vegas Tournaments

Has anybody been to Las Vegas for week and played tournaments everyday?
If so what are the best tournaments to play in?
And how did you do in the tournaments as far as placing on final tables?
Do you need a car or is a cab cheap enough?

Preferably 500.00 plus for 1st place tournamnets

Default Vegas Tourney's

Maxwell, this will be incomplete and not very illuminating. there are a few tourneys at "local" spots, where you might get a daily taste. Someone else had a list. I recently was disappointed to find out Boulder Station stopped their Saturday tourneys.

However my main intention with my best information is: If you get the list of possibilities, it WOULD BE BEST to have a car. Staying on the strip it's a $20-$25 fare to Boulder Station. Add the same to any Coast Casino or other Station Casinos, or the other "locals" and it wouldn't take long for taxi rides to add up to a car rental. Factor in any other "sightseeing" and it puts the rental over the top.

Default LV TOurnaments

It's been a while, but I did a few days in Vegas a few years ago, and played small tourneys at Sahara, Cannery, and Ramparts. Sahara was by far the best, but they no longer do the BJ Tournaments there. The Cannery and Ramparts are quite a ways from the strip. Definitely need a car. I got two final tables out of the four tournaments I played.

If you want to do a week in Vegas, pick one when the Golden Nugget has one of their tournaments. These are $50,000 for $100 entry, or $100,000 for $500 entry. That will give you a good reason for going, played over Saturday and Sunday, then stay over a few more days for the locals tourneys.

Arizona Charlie's on Boulder runs a couple of nice little BJT's every week, don't pay a lot but they're cheap and the players are not total boneheads. The staff makes everyone feel welcome, unlike Rampart. Great tune-ups if you take RK's excellent advice and show up in town for a much bigger event.

As you probably guessed, Rampart's BJT's do not have a fan here. They dislike "outsiders" coming in and beating up on their regular players.

Default Vegas Tournaments

Monday Cannery
Tuesday The M
OR Tuesday Rampart
Thurday Rampart
Friday Cannery

I do not recommend Arizona Charlies as it is too pricey for the prize but they have Thursday nite and Saturday afternoon

There are also some quickies at the Longhorn daily at noon and Wednesday and Sunday evenings

These events are all in the calendar

Comments by Leftnut are not accurate, they are quite nice at Rampart and it is a very beautiful establishment.

Boulder and Sahara have been gone for a while.

You definately need a rental car or someone to carry you....

Opinions vary based on experiences, mine was based on shocking favoritism in applying their rules.
But that's one reason why forums like this exist - so that differing opinions may be shared for all to see.

I will agree that it's a very attractive establishment.

Anyone thinking about cruising about town to hit the small BJT's must have a car. LV taxicabs have gotten outrageously expensive.
