The New Frontier's Live Money Blackjack Tournaments always bring out the best players in the country, and this final table shows the result, with some of the strongest tournament tacticians in contention.
Prize money is always based on entries and re-entries, and this event finished with a total prize pool of $67,950, including the $200 consolation prize received by each semifinalist who failed to win a seat among the last six contenders.
The format of the final table was 25 hands of live money blackjack, with each participant buying $300 in chips. Betting limits are $5 to $100, with the unusual addition of being able to bet in $1 or even $0.50 increments with the help of $1 chips and $2.50 chips. The game is dealt from a six-deck shoe, and late surrender is allowed.
Finalists were John Ressman (Las Vegas), Willie Aguas (Las Vegas), Vera Panjanon (Boulder City NV), Jimmie D'Ambrosia (Lincoln Park NJ), Ruth Kopp (?), and James Blair (CA?).
