I'm a fairly new blackjack player - but I got hooked on a trip to Vegas last fall.
I decided to focus on tournament play for the year and live in the Virginia/DC/Maryland Area.

Two main questions for the group -
1) Does anyone know of any blackjack tourneys outside of MGM National Harbor? I cant seem to find any listed on the search. (I guess even looking at NJ area would work for me too but Im based in northern Virginia)

Before I ask my very first question to you, experts, I'd especially like to first thank Ken, Gronbog, Monkeysystem, the Pro, LeftNut etc. and the regulars for all the valuable tips they openly shared here since so many years.

No doubt they boosted my own game a lot ! But also, given the average (mainland) european TBJ player's level, there's no doubt the fellow US forum members here...

Played in my first ever BJ tournament in 2015 at the Paris, and had a great time! Have played in a couple more at Harrah's since then, but couldn't get past the second round on any of them.

In 2017, the Horseshoe Hammond in Indiana held a weekly BJ tournament for a couple of months in the summer, and I was able to play in 6 of them, but never made it past the first table.

I also played in a tournament at Harrah's Joliet...
