I can't make it this time around, but would be interested in feedback from anyone who does go. What's the hotel like?

I'm 45 minutes away from that location and wouldn't enter this tournament with either my $$$ OR any one else's. The prize fund is based on 480 entries (!) and is not guaranteed, has tricked-up rules such as the 21st (only 21st) of 25 hands paying 5x for a natural, accumulation format that only takes 48 entries into the 2nd round, and I could go on. I actually invested the time to drive into downtown Detroit to get a copy of the real rules, all 15 pages of them, and felt quite foolish for doing so.

By the way, the only way to enter is to appear in the host's office personally - and entries are cut off 2 days prior to the start of it. So, anyone who must travel a fair distance will be stuck in Detroit for at least two days waiting for it to start.

It is great to see a bigger BJT on the schedule, but..... Godalmighty, what a lousy tournament.

Yeah, my disappointment was quite large as I read through their rules.

By the way, they're hoping for 480 entries at $500 each. The full field prize fund would be $200K. I have no problem with a host casino running something like this at break-even or even making up to a 10% rake to cover expenses, poker has done that for many years and if we wish to see more BJT's at this level we're probably going to have to get used to it. However, the profit they've built into this one is downright shocking.
