Wanted to mention the tournament earlier this week, but just got out of the hospital yesterday. Wasn't sure if I was going. Hope there's going to be some other members there. So far it looks like a very light turn out. Called them about signing up at 3pm today. There were only 8 signed up for the 1 pm session. No one for 2pm or 3 pm, and only 2 for the last session at 4pm.
Wow. Just..... wow. I'm a mere 75 miles from there and this is the first I've heard of it. A friend plays a lot of poker there and he didn't know, either. Methinks the promotional efforts may have been somewhat lacking. Wolverine, hope your stay in the hospital went well and that you're good as new again!
Keep your eye on these pages! I found it on their web site and posted it here 10 days ago. Sounds like it may be a bust though.
Oh, I'll readily admit that I was asleep at the wheel as far as finding the info here. However, it's obvious that the house didn't do a very good job of getting the word out to the public at large.
I went. It was fun. Didn't cash, though. I thought the experience level of the players was good, meaning it's tougher to advance. I'd drive four hours there and four back home in the same day again for that event.
Hey Monkey, How was the turn out/payout, I would have gone but didn't see it until Saturday afternoon. I've been busy and didn't look at the sight. They need to send fliers to past participants, etc.
The prize pool was 23,000 with 7,777 going to first. There were six finalists who got paid cash and also 7th through 13th got a $200 free play. It didn't look like there were that many players. I didn't count (too busy jawing with noman at the bar), but there were maybe fifty or sixty. There was a significant number of rebuys. There might have been a fair number of players who showed up later. There's something to be said for that, as there were less seated at each table in the later rounds.
