$25,000 BRC Fall Classic - All cash prize pool Buffalo Run Casino Miami, OK

Just posted the dates of our Fall tournament! We made a few changes based on player feedback, but it is still a $25,000 prize pool with all-cash. We really had a great time and a great turnout in July! I hope to see familiar faces, and some new ones in October.

For those of you who played with us in October, the new format is still win your table, but we are reducing the number of rounds from 7 to 6 so that the two chip leaders will advance into the quarter-finals. We increased the number of hands to 20 for the preliminary rounds, quarter-final round, and semi final round. The final round will have 25 hands. There will be Wild Cards into the quarter-final rounds, three players per table will advance into the Semi-Final round. NO Wild Cards for the semi-final and only 6 per table. The top chip leader from each table will advance into the Final - Round plus 1 Wild Card drawing for the 7th seat.

After the success of our first tournament, I got the okay to move the tournament into our Showplace! Since we have the Showplace for those two days, we will be offering a continental breakfast during registration, dinner Saturday in the Showplace and lunch Sunday afternoon. We will still take early registration on StubWire (NO FEE to register online) or on property. Looks like Miami, OK is going to be on our schedule this fall and as of right now, wife and I will be in attendance for this tourney. Will register as we get a little closer.

Great to hear that, Pill. You'll have no regrets. I know it's a big distance for Tim and Gronbog but if they go once, my guess is that the will return. The thing that's really different at Buffalo Run is that all indications seem to say that management is in full support. Yes, I know we aren't used to that but when I was there in July, Cindy said something to the effect that management had asked her when she wanted to do the next one. Where else are we seeing that?
To add even more incentive, there are indications that Cindy wants to grow this into a "big purse" event verysoon. She and her main helper Kim, (I think) are both very knowledgeable and competent.
I'd be saying the same thing had I not placed there in July. If you go, you'll have the pleasure of meeting several nice fellow BJT members from the south.

Yeah, it's about 16.5 hours for me to drive, so a bit of a stretch. Perhaps if/when it becomes the big purse event that Cindy hopes it will become. Hmmm, looks like it's not too far from Dallas, if I were combine it with a visit to my brother, who lives there.

 

It sounds great Billy, especially if the purse ends up getting bumped up as Gronbog mentioned. I thought about seeing if you, Double Down, Jonny 21, Monkey, etc. would be interested in carpooling down there from say west of Chicago.

 

Add LeftNut to that list of possibles. I may already have 3 from my general area lined up for next month and a total of 4 still makes for max comfort in the ride I will have.
If I would have space for another, I'll make it known here.

 

From reading everything I guess I am going to have to see about time off for the drive for this. If anyone interested in car pool I usually have room for 2 more comfortably.

We are really looking forward to everyone joining us in October! I really would like to get together a bigger purse, and think that may be possible once I get a few successful tournaments under my belt here. If I can answer any questions or provide a copy of our rules, please let me know!

Oh Man, it sounds like fun. I wished I could make it.

 

When are you leaving and when are you coming home?

 

To be more exact, when would you be rolling by Chicago on the way down and the way back?

 

My plan is more like going through Des Moines and down through Kansas City but that could be changed.
If going through Chicago, I'd say roughly 8-9 A.M. on Oct. 16 and roughly 6 P.M. on October 19.
Would like to have you join me, Ron T and Keith. You'd not regret it.
