Thanks Ken For keeping us posted on everything related to wagering, especially when we have an advantage. The InterPoker tournament had 1,505 entries at $25 each for a total of $37,625. True to their word, InterPoker added $50,000 for a grand total of $87,625 in prize money - a large overlay! Payday was down to 120th place. I didn't make the final table, but did cash in. Thanks again for keeping us posted. I'd never been on their site before, so your information and link helped.
It's the fee That's the fee added by the poker room. It won't go into the prize pool. So, it cost $27.50 to play this event, but only $25.00 went into the prize pool for each player. Pretty meaningless point when you consider that they added $50K on top of all the $25 entries, but that's what it means.
Play it again Sam Interpoker is holding this event again Sunday June 5th. Details from their email: [/font]
$50,000 added, one more time Another one of these is Sunday August 7th, at noon Eastern. Entry is $25 + $2.50, and Interpoker is again adding 5 of their Caribbean Poker Classic packages worth $10,000 each to the prize pool. It makes for a huge overlay. In the Interpoker software, look under Multi-Table Tournaments / Regular. The tournament is called 'CPC_TIME 901133' Registration is already open. Good luck!
How Long? Does anyone know about how long the Texas Hold'em tournament lasts? My problem is that I have dial-up service and if I'm on the internet for more than 6 hours, YAHOO! automatically disconnects. The problem is not my computer settings, it is YAHOO!. As a side thought, if anyone knows a way around this problem, I'd appreciate any help.
Good advice. Ken: Thanks for the help. I never played in an on-line tournament and didn't know there were breakes. My first question got lost. How long do these tournaments normally last?
I expect about 3 to 4 hours should do it. I lasted an hour and 15 minutes, and then made a really dumb call against a big stack that put me out in 422nd place. My chips put the big stack into first place at the time, where he still sits with 375 players left. There were 794 players today, making the equity in this tournament a considerable 351%.
Better Luck Next Time I just got eliminated to 306th place. My near all-in of a pair of Jacks got beaten by another's all-in of a suited A-8.
poker I threw in my $27.50 as well... I had 7 2 off-suit 3 times in the first 15 hands ended up all in pre-flop with 8 8 ....2 players left....one called with AQ off-suit....and made a straight on the river... for as little $$ as they collected...I don't know how they could pay out that much....Thanks Ken for the inside scoop
