called today , they told me this was a open event , anybody could play .....it is the same day as hard rock , which would be the better ????????
Play both if you can. They are not far away; 5 min by car. I do not know much about the pay or the rules and I will not play either one, but if I were there I probably would play Scarlet if everything is equal just because it is a new event to encourage them.
With the Scarlet Pearl event to be completed, start to finish, in one day (Saturday), I suspect it is not an elimination game, but probably is an accumulation game. It starts at 2:00 PM, and unless it goes far into the night, I can't see how they can pull off a win your table game. I called the marketing department once and they told me, as they did George, that it is not exclusively invitational. I called back to ask about rules and so far I have gotten no return call. Does anyone know for sure which format it is? The Hard Rock rules make it one that doesn't warrant my 9 hour drive to get to it, but if the Scarlet Pearl is elimination format and rules are not really weird, I'll probably make the drive for it, partially to show encouragement to the new casino as The Professional suggests. We need all the Blackjack tournaments we can get.
I was told in my phone call to the marketing department about a week ago that this would be a Saturday only event. I just checked the event calendar here and found there are two listings for the SP BJT. June 24-25 & another for June 25-26. If anyone knows the straight skinny on the dates and times of this one, please post it. If I can reach someone and get info on it and if someone doesn't beat me to it, I will post what I find out.
Since Adolph from Tunica is the table game manager there now, I doubt that it is accumulation. He did have many hybrid events, but outside of some weekly events I don't think he ever went 100% accumulation. Call and ask for table game manager and he will probably return your call. Many of our members here have his personal cell number. Maybe one of you will call and clarify this tournament.
Thanks......... Yeah, You'd think, but I went to Adolph first and it did seem strange that they'd have someone with Adolph's experience, not to mention his following and not get the advantage he'd offer, but he told me the marketing department was handling everything about this tournament and he had nothing to do with it. I have another call into a host who contacted me this week about something else. I'll post whatever I get from them.
This just received from Scarlet Pearl (I hope it's all accurate when we get there). Tournament is open to public - $100 buy in Register Friday night June 24, 6:00 to 8:00 PM, or Saturday June 25, 12 Noon to 2:00 PM Tournament is to be held on Saturday only. Play starts at 2:00 PM Elimination format
Thanks guys. If you can get the rounds and sessions times, I might be able to scoot up there from the Beau tournament Saturday. Also, is pre-entry required (prior to registration) or could I just show up on Saturday, pay, enter and play?

George: You asked about getting a late Scarlet Pearl round time at registration. I just talked with a host. He went to ask about it and then called me back to tell me that anyone wanting a specific play time should "ask for a tournament staff member at registration to request it". He has been asked about specific play times by others, also wanting to play the Hard Rock and this tournament. He seemed to think it could be done but as we all know there are never guarantees on such things at these events. One details that should be considered is the first rule shown in my post above: "• Guests cannot request round times or table to prevent collusion.". They could fall back on that rule to keep from issuing special play times. If both can be played, I may try it. I'll be in town anyway, so I'll just play the Scarlet Pearl as my first priority, then Hard Rock if it can be pulled off. The times of pay at Scarlet Pearl are pretty clearly laid out above. Do you have Hard Rock play times? That information would help those of us who'd like to try for both...... And Dakota and others who are playing the Beau. Dakota: Registration at Scarlet Pearl on Saturday is 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM.
Who else played in this? They allowed more entries than they planned for and things did not go as scheduled. No rebuy round or wild card drawing and everything ran over two hours late.
I experienced the same problem as did Sentry. This was an extreme case of the Left Hand not knowing what the Right Hand was doing at the Scarlet Pearl. I was told by a host (twice) by phone that I had a spot in the tournament and at the start of registration at 6:00pm Friday he would walk me over to the table and make sure I got a 3:00pm Round 1 session the next day (I was playing in the Beau Rivage tournament at at 2:00pm on the next day, Saturday). Well, they had overbooked and I was told to be there at 8:00pm to sign up after they determined the number of no-shows. I decided to get there at 7:00pm just to make sure, but they had started earlier and had already filled in the vacancies with no 3:00pm available! I left. (Another BJTer was there and I'm sure you will hear from him also.) Now the Good News... I had much better results at the 100k Beau Rivage tournament the next day. I took 2nd place! I was in 4th place going into the final hand and my only chance for 1st place would have been a max bet, then doubled and add a prayer. So, instead of doing that and almost certainly falling to 5th place, I took the low on the other 4, with the high on 3 of them, and gladly settled for 2nd place.
