Just curious everybody's thoughts on this. I used to assume Las Vegas would be the answer but the more I play the more I question that. I think it's safe to say Las Vegas has the most number of tournaments of any city but when you dig a little deeper it seems the casino keep in addition to the small entry fee makes most of the tournaments unworthy of the 4 hour committment. Between Laughlin, Phoenix, and LA I think you'd be hard pressed to find another part of the country with mid-level tournaments (5k-20k prize pools) open to the public including Vegas. Between those three cities there are 12 open tournaments in that prize pool range every month. Is there any other part of the country that comes close?

Based on the tournament calendar on this site, I would have to say that MS seems to be a hot spot for open tournaments (Biloxi and Tunica).

The UP in MI was, until recently, a hot spot. The Kewadin tournaments there used to draw a loyal following of members from this site. The events went down hill last year and I haven't heard anything at all about any events this year.

Buffalo run in Oklahoma seems to have become very popular among members of this site recently.
