Hi All, I am a newbie to BJ tournaments and have just gone through the Tournament strategy pages in this forum and I must say it has got me hooked! (though I seem a decade late when the BJ tournament scenario was thriving ). It would be great if anyone could let me know of any software where I can simulate and practice tournament mode (eg. give bankrolls to 3-4 players and simulate the outcome of a hand with various bets etc.). Understand from some of the threads that Casino Verite 3.0 had this feature but it seems the latest versions (5.6) dont have tourney mode enabled. Any pointers please? Thank You. Arun
Hello and welcome ClubWPT.com is still running free blackjack tournaments where you can play real tournaments against live players. The money games are gone, but the experience is still of value. I have my own software for this and for analysing tournament situations. Unfortunately, it's not in any way ready to be used by anyone other than me. I wont go into all the reasons, but lack of any kind of graphical user interface is the biggest hurdle, among others. The best I can offer is to simulate situations of interest to you as my free time allows. Even then, be aware that I am involved with a few projects in the blackjack community (not just tournaments) so you might have to be patient.
Thanks for the info gronbog. Pity that the online BJ tournament scene is bleak. I did check out the ClubWPT.com website you had suggested but it seems the tournaments there are meant only for poker (or am I looking at the wrong link?). It would be helpful if you could share the link to join BJ tournaments in the same site. Thanks once again. Arun
First of all, my mistake -- it's playWPT.com. However, you appear to be correct. I no longer see any mention of blackjack tournaments on the site. They recently transitioned away from a downloadable client to playing directly on the web site and I guess the blackjack tournaments were dropped in the web client. I still have the downloadable client on my Windows computer, but don't have access to it right now. I'll check later and report back. I just checked and Las Vegas Advisor still runs free live tournaments. https://play.lasvegasadvisor.com
Oh good. Finally they scheduled tournaments at lasvegasadvisor. The first one starts today at 5:00 PM EDT and the second one is the next week.
