    Hi gang,

I wanted to let everyone here at BJT know that I'm no longer at the helm of the site. BlackjackTournaments.com and BlackjackInfo.com were sold to a new owner this month. There will be a post at BlackjackInfo soon that talks more about the change of ownership, but I wanted to drop a note here among my many friends.

Don't worry. I'm not going away. I will still be participating in BJT, and indeed, I should actually be able to participate in more tournaments. For example, although I can't make the October Buffalo Run tournament because of a long-planned vacation trip, I do intend to make it to one of their events in the near future. I look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

Some of you may have noticed a lot of changes in my personal situation. My family made a move from Mississippi to Dallas Texas this summer. My son started school at UT Dallas this semester, and I decided to move my wife and I to the area as well. He is living in the dorm, but we're close by.

The last few months have been pretty hectic. I sold about 80% of our belongings. I sold a house. I sold a car. I sold websites that I spent 18 years developing. I uprooted our family and moved to a new state.

But wow, are we enjoying Dallas so far! There are over 100 restaurants within one mile of our apartment, and so much to do here. Life is good. I look forward to the next chapter.

So, what happens next at BJT? I don't know, but I don't expect much to change right away. And I made clear that I will be available to help if needed. I encourage you to just go on using the site as you always have. With the additional team and resources the new owner has at hand, I expect the site to thrive.

So, carry on, and I'll see you on the road. :)

Ken, you do know that there are no casinos in Texas, right? LOL!

Thanks for the development of this site over the years. It has enable me (us) to keep in contact with many friends and in the know of tournaments around the country. I really appreciated your efforts and maybe we will meet in Miami, OK next year.

WOW! There's a bombshell for most of us. Wish the very best for you and your family in Texas, Ken, and want to echo those who have thanked you for your tireless efforts here on BJT.com. If it wasn't for you and this forum, I would never have gone as far as I did back in the glory days of BJT's and I will forever be grateful to you.

Initially I felt a little shock and despair but the fact that you'll still have a presence certainly helps. You might want to keep an open calendar for mid April 2017 because I think Buffalo Run's first bigger purse (50k?) event will debut then.
For now, please accept my thanks for ALWAYS being a down to earth helpful source for all of us here. Your provision of this site has been a real treat that I appreciate greatly.
Best of everything to you and family in the big D.

Wow says it. If I remember correctly, Ken started BJT, shortly after "Blackjack Confidential" ceased publishing. It was kind of a punch in the gut when the magazine went away. That was my initial reaction to this announcement. This site, under Ken, has been, a friendly, encouraging part of my life. I know, MR Smith, calculated his options and opportunities as only he can and wish him continued good fortune. The opportunity to see him on the tournament trail will be a bit rare for me, but welcome when it happens. Those brief encounters won't be the same as knowing he was always looking over one's shoulder, here on the sight, ready to inform, clarify, enlighten, or chastise when necessary. All that from a man of integrity, in a realm that discourages it, or sways so many others from it.

Ken, Wishing you all the best as you turn a new chapter. I'm glad to hear you'll still be a presence on this site. You've chosen a great place to hang your hat. For many years I've been telling folks, "If I got kicked out of Wisconsin, Texas is where I'd go."

Yes indeed, I've been helping to get them back open. They are open now, after a 5 year hiatus.

LV Bear is the primary admin over the now, so he's well experienced after running Stanford Wong's site for years.

    Enjoy!

Just when I decide to move out of the Metroplex you decide to move here. LOL
Although I'm now up near the Red River we still come to the big city, I'd like to meet you someday.
