Four Winds Casino, New Buffalo, MI

The monthly tournaments, starting with September's, will be held on the second Sunday of the month.
They have been held on the first Tuesday of the month. July and August tourneys will still be first Tuesdays.

Two $20,000 tourneys. One on Sunday June 24. One on Sunday Aug 26.
$110 buy-in. Includes $10 dealer toke for additional chips. Rebuys as available.
Registration on both dates starts at 11am. First round begins at 1pm.
So far, same format as the reoccurring monthlies.

Those 20k events provide incentive enough for my consideration. Thanks for posting.

That's great news! No more taking vacation time from work for a $65 tournament!

This is the best BJT news I've seen in quite some time. Thanks for sharing, Noman!

If you get anything back from them, please share! I can find nothing on their website, DRSLYR and I would both be highly interested in attending.

Lauren Carter, Guest Service Team, wrote me that the monthly tournaments will start September on Sundays, nothing else. I have just asked her for the rules and prize structure, I will post when she responds.

Got my reply, right now the $20,000 June and August are invited only. They have not made the September rules yet.

Last time they had a bigger tourney that was supposed to be invite, they had plenty of room, if you were there at 11am. The invites went to their preferred players, not to the regular monthly participants. It was regular monthly players that filled it up. Many of the preferred invited didn't show. And they wouldn't have announced those tourney dates to everyone at the June tourney if they were going to be invite only.

Don't see September rules changing from what they've had all along. Or the bigger ones being any different with a few tweaks. I can post those if you want but they are pretty standard BJ tourney formats. Actually straight forward and decent.

I was afraid of that. Not the least bit interested in a 350-mile round trip just on the chance we might be able to play.

Last time they had one of these everyone who made the trip was able to play as many buy-ins as needed. I'm planning to make the trip again, confident I'll get to play as needed to advance.

Meybe when you all get there you could talk to them about just making it open. It is 17 hour round trip for me, which I would do only if I knew that I could participate.

As Monkey said. Arrive to sign up at 11am you are sure to get in. Their format for the monthlies and for their larger one(s) accommodates 144 individual entries.
The monthlies reach that number with multiple rebuys. The last biggie had multitudes of invitees not show up.

The tweak for the bigger tourney is 4 preliminary rounds of six tables with six per table instead of 3 preliminary rounds with eight tables with six per table.
Two advance from prelim to semi where one per table advances to final. Monthlies had wild cards to semis. If all 144 spots are initially filled there would be no wild cards.

The catch in their format with eight semi final tables is one of those table winners( lowest money winner) does not go to finals. They get a one or two percent cut of the pot.

I'm committed to a niece's graduation party on June 24th but will probably try to do the August event.
