Who says nice guys don't win? BJT's PitchMan won the well attended (134 original entrants) October 15-16 Blackjack tournament at Miami, OK. Very deserving for a fellow that has been instrumental in the continued growth of Buffalo Run tourneys.
Also, "our" John Nelson placed second and "our" Mrs. Tgun nailed down the sixth place prize.
Congratulations to all three of these individuals!!!

Cindy (tournament director) did another fantastic job with this tournament. Along with sidekicks Kim and Chris, plus great dealers, this is a well run and enjoyable tournament. Breakfast, lunches and a dinner are included and this is definitely a not-to-be-missed event! And, the next tournament in April will have an even larger prize pool. Thanks for another great event Cindy!

Is the next tournament in April? or they would have one in January?

Yes. Typical January tourney has been eliminated because of weather concerns that time of the year.
April 29 and 30th tournament will be the first bigger purse event at Buffalo Run. Sounds like it will be a 50k event so mark your calendars now!

Thanks so much, Billy, for the kind words at the beginning of this string, and many thanks to you for being one the first of so many who jumped on board and spread the word that got this Blackjack tournament series off the ground so quickly and successfully. The series is only six events old and the purse has already grown in size twice. I have to echo what Dakota stated so well above. I don’t know where one could go to feel more welcome and comfortable for a fun, relaxing, and with a bit of luck, a profitable weekend. And, I must repeat the accolades for Cindy and this great crew she has put together. Player participation is an all important element to a successful event like this and it’s so easy for players to be loyal to an event that is headed up by someone as loyal to the tournament and it’s players as Cindy is. She is truly unique in the pool of tournament directors I’ve encountered. So many have said that this is becoming one of, if not the premier Blackjack tournament destination, and I agree.

I’m close enough (4 hours away), that I can go there more often than many who come from so far away to play these larger tournaments but I still regret that it will be April before I get to see all those old and new BRC friends and we all get to play this tournament again.

My best to everyone reading this. I hope to see some of you at the Hard Rock event on this Saturday.

BRC Tournament Series dates are set for 2017

    April 29-30, July 22-23 and October 14-15

I must echo PitchMan's sentiments. Cindy and the staff at Buffalo Run "are the best." I have played near 2,000 tournaments over the years at many venues. Some of them were great. But, none have shown better hospitality and have been so committed to running a fair and well administered tournament. I encourage everyone in the blackjack tournament community to give Buffalo Run a try next April.

  11. I am so sorry for the delay in posting, but I took some time off after the tournament and then had to play catch up at work!!

I am so grateful for all the kind words and the support from all of you! We truly work to providing a player's tournament and everyone is so friendly and helpful. It is the team work between the players and table games that makes these tournaments work, for the players and the casino! I really hate cancelling the January one, but as the weather is simply to iffy. I am pushing the tournament purse up to 50K between cash and single use promotional chips, but it is still very cash heavy. The rules and format will remain the same with the only change being the first initial buy-in will be $200 and rebuys will be $120 (both will still have the $10 dealer appreciation option).

This is the probable prize structure. I don't see it changing, but calling it probable rather that definite at this time.

Cash Prize Single Use Promo Chip Grand Total
    1st Place 48% $19,200 $2,800 $22,000
    2nd Place 16% $6,400 $1,000 $7,400
    3rd Place 11% $4,400 $700 $5,100
    4th Place 8% $3,200 $600 $3,800
    5th Place 7% $2,800 $500 $3,300
    6th Place 6% $2,400 $400 $2,800
    7th Place 4% $1,600 $300 $1,900
    8th - 36th place = $100 in single use promo chips

Again thank you so much for your friendship as well as your support! Please have a safe and joyous Thanksgiving!

I'll let Cindy correct it but I think she entered an incorrect figure for dealer appreciation amount (I think it's $10 instead of $100).
