Some years back started hearing John Grochowski gambling advice on a Chicago Radio station. Solid and entertaining and informative for a casual "player." For students of the games, most info already pretty much known. Then Henry picks him up for Insider. Again entertaining, but Wiz and some others "deeper. Still JG a good read and helpful refresher.

Now, though, his radio advice is sponsored by Four Winds Casino, New Buffalo, MI. I don't begrudge anyone making a deal, but when the "Advice giver" is sponsored by an interested party, one has to wonder about sponsor influence. Kind of like a well known industry insider, old sage, who gave gamblers all kinds of advice and then parlayed that into a high paid consultantcy for a large property. Working both sides against the middle. Oh that's right arbitrage.

He is not the first nor will he be the last.

    It's all about ev.

If they casinos had more brains they would try to use far more skilled players than they already have,,,most are very ignorant indeed.

    Buyer Beware!

So it goes. I guess, K. Smith has spoiled me. As far as I can see there is no hidden agenda on this site. A free exchange of ideas, strategy and dumb comments, mostly from me, but still allowed, filtered through others for some intelligent folks to further their best efforts in a declining world of black jack and black jack tournament play. To the really intelligent, continued good fortune. It's really getting tough out there.

I know John Grochowski and can tell you this without the slightest reservation - it is highly unlikely that his opinions on either his radio show or in his columns will be tainted by any advertising sponsorship deal. Most of his work is rather general, anyway, he doesn't do much touting of specific plays in specific casinos.

It's easy to see why one might think his "voice" could be subject to sponsor influence but it ain't gonna happen with that guy.

Where you live, I think I know where you live, there is no decline in BJ tourney play, but actually more and better tourneys than ever before.

"Getting tough out there", you are close to one of the best games in the US for AP play,,,,so believe me, it is not "getting tough out there". Not as long as you are allowed to play.:(
