I just had a mental download of a new way to play the game of Blackjack. I call it Double-Deck Blackjack.

2 separate decks: one deck for the dealer and 1 deck for the player

First the dealer deals the players cards from the player deck
Then the dealer deals their own cards from their own deck.

After that, the hand is played normally. If the player wants a hit, the dealer hits them from the player deck. If the dealer wants a hit, they hit themselves from their own deck.

Try counting cards in that game.

Many players are capable of maintaining more than one count. I think that your game would be easier to beat than conventional blackjack. You would sometimes have situations where the player's deck is favourable and the dealer's deck is unfavourable.

Yes, keeping two counts would be rather easy for a single deck for each of the dealer or the player. What would be tricky would be the different indices, as the simulation generating them assumed removal of cards that would affect both dealer and player. Eventually, would be easier to bet, so I do not think casinos will do it.

This game would be an advantage player's dream. Let me know when it gets a field test! I'll help "test" it.

Card counting is hampered mainly because cards that are good for the player are also good for the dealer. The house edge/player edge in this game would be MUCH more volatile. A skilled player could crush it.
