I read on some past thread that this casino has large tournaments (at least $10K for 1st in which Doc won in the past) and was interested in playing in it! However, when I did a search on it for this year & last year, the calendar showed only a much smaller monthly $1500 one that costs about $30 to enter..... can someone tell me when the larger tourneys are held here?

As much as I love BJ tourns, living in Houston, it wouldn't be economically feasible for me to pay for airfare + hotel + car to participate in a small tournament like that.

Forget it. The bigger events are history.

When did they end ? The thread I saw was pretty recent... 2019 I thought

Their final bigger event was in May 2019. For the last several years, they had hosted two bigger events a year. The earlier one was always close to Memorial Day and the later one was always close to Thanksgiving. These were good, well ran tourneys that I hated to see end. First place was a guaranteed 10k.
Way back in the late 90's, I garnered my very first "first place win" at this venue. At that time, first place paid a guaranteed 20k (cash) and it was a live money tournament. I won the final table with something like $650 in live chips and toked all of that to dealers. Didn't take me long to realize that it was a substantial "over" tip.

P.S. Yes, you read it correctly. In the 90's first place was a guaranteed 20k cash, later events 10k (and no live money), and now there is nothing. A familiar lament for longtime tournament players, I know.

WOW! How sad that this is yet another tournament that I missed and didn't even know about as I'm still too young in the Blackjack tournament game! Was the turnout poor, just like Buffalo Run? Sad to see that there are now no more LARGE events at either Buffalo Run or this casino!
