Things seemed to pick up for blackjack tournaments in 2010, with more open events than in the prior year or two. We're still way below the number of available events from a few years ago though. How many events did you play last year? Please vote.
Winnings and ratios I am new to the board and need to search more, but do you also poll for tournaments won/placed and how much was won? This might provide good information for a player's expectation. It may require a break out of tournament size to avoid too much skew. # big tournaments won/cashed, # medium won/cashed, # small....
ternamint u may want to statistically to death. But most tournament players weigh cost of entry vs payout. Some payouts may not be statistically ev, but return for investment is there. Everyone has their own reason for entering a particular tournament.
Late to the survey, Ken...sorry. I think it was 3, but I played in more poker tourneys and cashed in 25% or more of them in 2010. That was live-action. Not even guessing the on-line activity. And while there has been growth in BJ tourneys, sadly for 2010 I was living 3+ hours from most casinos for the second half of 2010. Now that I'm in the east-side of SoCal/LA, I hope that I can start tracking the LA/LV action better and get into more weekly/monthly events.
I counted live events only. Most of them medium or large, according to the criteria on the tournament schedule.
