Sorry, but I don't know where else to ask this. Our local Route 66 Casino just west of Albuquerque just opened a single deck game where they pay 3 to 2 for blackjacks, but you can only double on 10 and 11, and there's no double after split. I figured out those odds, but they also offer 3-1 payouts if you get a 6-7-8 or 7-7-7 AND beat the dealer on their 6-deck shoe games. How much does that improve the game? I don't know if I should abandon my double deck game I play there. They only offer this Monday-Thursdays. S17, No DAS, Split up to 4 times, except only twice for Aces, not sure about surrender...never play the shoes.:p

You didn't give the rules for the shoe game.

The wizard of Odds BJ page has all kinds of rules variation and a BJ edge calculator. http://wizardofodds.com/games/blackjack/

Use the BJ edge calcuator and then look at appendix 11 for 6/7/8 and 7/7/7 value and strategy.

The promo represents a 2 unit bonus (original bet + 2 extra). The difference here which is not covered in The Wizard's appendix is that your hand must beat the dealer in order for the bonus to be paid.

I can crunch the numbers for you, but I need a couple of questions answered:
    • Does this apply to split hands?
    • Does this apply to doubled hands and, if so, what is the payout? 3/1 on the full wager or just the original bet?
I'll get started assuming that answer to both questions is "no". I'm also assuming that the hands need not be suited.

    Same shoe rules

I gave the rules for both double deck and shoes. Surrender I don't believe is allowed. As far as I know, it applies to split hands (the 7-7-7 or 6-7-8), but I would venture a guess that if you tried to double a 7-7 and got the third 7, they would not give you 6 times your bet!:p
