I'll be on Jeopardy! Friday November 4th. I'm the girl in the middle with the magenta-striped hair.

  2. Congratulations. I will be looking for you. Oddly enough, I got my much anticipated call from Wheel Of Fortune yesterday. I go to Culver City, California to tape on Nov. 17.
It isn't Jeopardy but I am excited anyway.
I look forward to your show and hope you did great.

    Oops

Somehow, my fellow contestants and I were told the wrong air date, so the show is actually airing today Nov 3rd.

Rebel- that is awesome about WoF!! You'll have a wonderful experience. Definitely let us know the [correct ;) ] date that your show will be on. Do lots of crossword puzzles before you tape- that's excellent practice for the Wheel.

Now my new dream is to be on Price Is Right... what can I say? I'm a game show junkie.

  4. Well heck, I guess the post-it on my monitor reminding me to watch can be taken down. Wish I could have seen your episode. Hope you did well. A guy I know from the days I was trying to get on Millionaire was on J a couple of weeks ago. We were just internet pals but I was able to meet him for lunch one day while I was in Las Vegas. He won his first day but wasn't as forrtunate the second. I know how hard it is to qualify for J so congratulations for that regardless of how the show went. So much of a contestant's success depends upon the categories falling into an area of knowledge that is a strong point for you. Sometimes the stacks work for you and sometimes they don't.

I expect them to tell us our expected air-dates when we get out there. I'll be sure to let you know as it approaches. Unless I totally play like a doofus  .

    You didn't miss much...

I got creamed by an amazing champion, Maria. She is unstoppable! A 5x champ with well over $100K, and still going strong!

I thought the categories were pretty terrible ("German Rivers," "Bacteriology," & "Really Tough Wheel of Fortune Puzzles" were 3 of the most random ones), but I was surprised to find that I actually knew a majority of the correct responses- the buzzer, however, was a different story... It was a lot of fun, though; I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. :)

    Nice going!

Congrats on your Jeopardy appearance Kalex21! I'm sorry I missed the show.

BJ Rebel, good luck on Wheel! Be sure to let us know a broadcast date for that.

I didn't realize we had so many game show applicants among us. I tried for Millionaire a few times, and got through the phone portion a couple of times but never got the callback.

Haven't made any real game shows yet, but I got to play the mock version of Millionaire at the Disney - MGM Studios stage show just last week. Made it to the 1,000,000 point question (I would have won a 3-night disney cruise for 4 plus airfare), but got it wrong for obvious reasons:

1,000,000 point question: Which basketball team won the 1997 NCAA Division II National Championship?
    A) Northern Kentucky
    B) Cal State - Bakersfield
    C) Kentucky Wesleyan
    D) Virginia Union

  8. Thanks Ken. The Baboo and I fly out there tomorrow and I tape my show on Thursday. Actually, Millionaire is what revived my game show ambitions. I had contacted WOF years ago about contestant selection. They informed me that they got over a milion inquiries a year about being a contestant. Realizing the odds against it, I pretty much gave up the idea after a couple of years.

After Millionaire quit doing the phone game to select contestants, I auditioned 3 times when they traveled around the country on contestant searches. (Birmingham, Memphis, & Jackson in 3 successive years) I passed the written test all 3 times (BAM only had about a 12% pass rate) but was unable to suitably impress the 22 year old New York City wanna-be actresses during the live interview to get invited to the show. Fortunately, they did select The Baboo for the show when she finally accompanied me to the Jackson audition. She was on the very first show aired after the Twin Towers were hit. Unfortunately, she couldn't get the fastest finger contests fast enough to get into the hot seat.

All that got me back into the spirit of game shows and I went to the WOF audition in Biloxi to see if my luck had changed. I guess I will really find that out Thursday.
