New Blackjack Cruise in the works.

I just talked to my travel agent today about checking cruises for a good deal next year. I am looking for a January/February departure date.

Seems like these dates have worked the best in the past. Give us a chance to leave behind the colder weather and travel to warmer exotic places while getting to enjoy some blackjack tournaments at the same time.

Because of the economy I an looking for the best prices and am also going to lower the entry fees for the bigger tournaments from the normal $300 to $200 and re-buys from $150 to $100 each. We normally host 3 main tournaments on each cruise.

Now we will still host sit and goes for whatever the players wants to play for, normally from $5 to $100 per player.

I'll post more information after I get confirmation on a date.

Yeah, right - what do you Texas folks know about colder weather?

Seriously, if I had my own druthers, I'd like to see this as a 7-day cruise. A 4 or 5 day cruise would mean that most of it would be spent in the ship's casino. While the cost would go up marginally because of the longer time, some might appreciate having a bit more "vacation" time available. The travel costs (esclusive of the cruise tickets) would be the same. Either way, Deb and I are both quite interested.

    I love the cruises

I understand your point, but the first cruise we took was a 7 day and we were all beat by the end. By the time you play all the tournaments on the 5 day cruise, plus all the sit and goes, plus the ports of call, and other activities on the cruise I'm sure you'll find 5 days is a good amount of time.

Another factor is "Work", those that have a regular job might be able to get off for a week, but a 7 day cruise ends up running into a couple of extra days of work missed due to travel to and from the departing port city.

Expense is another factor, going from 5 to 7 days bumps up the cost by about $200 or better per passenger and in the current economy I think most people would prefer the extra savings. This savings alone would pay for two entry fees in one of the main events on board. Plus take into account the extra ports you'll stop at the parking back at the departure city, and all the misc. so those extra two days can add up.

One good thing is all the prize money will be paid in CASH, no promo chips...lol.

I vote 5 day. 7 days was a bit long, and it is tougher for many people to get away for that length of time.
