January 9th, 2010 will be the date of the next TBJPA cruise. It will be a 5 day cruise out of Galveston, TX to Mexico.

Beginning cost will be $410 per person; includes taxes and port charges and also includes a $100 shipboard credit per cabin ($75 from the package and $25 from the travel agent).

A $50 per person deposit will be required to lock in these rates. Payments may be made over the next few months with balance due in November. There will be 100% refund available up to sometime in September, I believe (I will double check the exact date and post later).

As normal, the TBJPA will be hosting two major tournaments along with several smaller BJT's and sit & go events.

Entries for the 2 main tournaments will cost $200 with $100 re-buys instead of the previous $300/$150 entries due to the economy. I'm doing my part to try to help out. :D

I am trying to get Ken Smith to attend this cruise (him and Jan have been on 2 of them in the past). I am hoping he will offer an hour-long seminar with questions and answers for a small fee.

    Expecting the biggest turnout yet...

Normally we block around 50 - 60 cabins for the Blackjack Cruise. Not for our next one, we have 99 already blocked and we maybe needing more!

Why the sudden increase and interest? Simple I decided to host a reunion cruise for my ex high school class, well one thing lead to another and before I knew it instead of just my class we had interest from classes from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's wanting to go.

What makes this great for the seasoned tournament players going is lots of these ex's want to play in the tournaments, a whole lot of them (can you say ploppies...lol).

Now not saying that you'll win if you go on the cruise, but chances are you'll be a favorite before we start.

I am expecting at least 30 of them will give the tournaments a try maybe more. On the past four cruises we normally only had around 30 players total.

Who knows, some of them may make the finals and then maybe more will try some of the later tournaments. Our tournaments will be a better deal for them than playing in the casino.

Just think around 60 players at $200 entry and $100 re-buys and only about half will have ever played in a blackjack tournament before. I'm thinking around $18,000 prize pool or more per tournament, not too shabby.

    cruise

    All that sounds great rick
it would be nice if you had 60 players for the tournaments or even 50 for that matter and the entries less this time makes for a good tournament :d:d
i hope everything works out as planned:d:d

    London Colin.

Neil Gagg and I have been having a look at this cruise and are currently sussing it out.

As you know, we have recently been to Las Vegas with our wife’s so now that we have pacified them we can dump them again for a lad’s only holiday.

It will all come down to the price of the airfare for us as to whether it will come off, but if you are interested in going let me know. If we go out from Manchester you can come up from London and stay at my house.

    Andy

PS Only Rick Jensen could organise a trip to the Swine Flu capital of the world and get away with it…:)

Love to see you and Neil again Andy, bring the wife's along as well on the cruise. They will love it and you'll build more brownie points up...LOL. This is the beauty of these blackjack cruises, you get to play and your wife's can enjoy themselves while you play and then you have together time for dinner and at the ports like a normal vacation.

You need to get Reachy and London Colin to come join us also.

Getting a nice turnout early on

So far I am getting several calls of interest for the January blackjack cruise from tournament players around the country.

I believe we have players from Washington, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Florida, Arkansas, Arizona, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Nevada already and many others inquiring about the cruise.

To book your cabin and lock down the low price a deposit of $50 per person will be required and is 100% fully refundable (by September, check with Tammy for exact details).

To book passage contact Tammy (Themom82) at: 903-464-0031

Ocean view, balcony, and suites upgrades are also available upon request, again ask Tammy for details.

    Players fee's

A one time $40 players fee will be charged to cover all the on board tournaments Jan. 9th to Jan. 13th, this fee will only be charged to the players and not all passengers.

The main two tournaments the dealers charge $5 per players in the first round only for compensation plus any tips the winners may wish to give them.

The sit and go events, players normally tip the dealers $3 to $5 dollars each before each tournament, plus any tips the winners may wish to give them.

The main two events will have a structured entry ($200) and re-buys ($100). All other tournaments the players involved will decide what they want to play for (normally $20 to $100 each).

Cruise deadline for lowest prices approching...

Tammy told me that anyone wanting to get the our advertised prices for the January 9th, 2010 Blackjack Cruise need to get their $50 deposits (per person) in before August 18th, 2009 (next month).

By getting your deposit in will assure you the low price offered at this time and remember that deposits are 100% refundable up to I believe Oct./Nov. (check with Tammy for exact dates for 100% return on cancelations).

On August 19th Carnival will be raising the prices.
