Was wondering if anyone knew of any good playing opportunities that may exist on the Sun Cruz Casino day cruises out of Jacksonville, Daytona & Port Canaveral. That's the only potential gambling I've found in Northern Florida and if you know of any others, please advise.

A couple of us want to get into town a couple of days early.

I'll also be looking to set up a meet & greet dinner if anyone is interested.

    Thanks.

    Gambling on ships near JAX

I heard that there should be some gambling opportunities on ships around the Jacksonville area. Because gambling on international sea is allowed. But I don`t know exact details. Perhaps you ckeck it out...

Best wishes, Sirklas from Germany :D

    Pre-Cruise Activities

Count us in on the "Meet and Greet" and the local gambling boats. Some of us from Stl may also be arriving earlier.

    Count Us in Too

Is someone familiar with Jacksonville? If we all meet we should arrange a convenient place. A get-together like this in San Diego turned out to be a good time last year.

Sorry I've been out of pocket

I think a group get together is a great idea. Last year we had a great time getting to meet one another before the cruise.

I was trying to get some mini-BJ tournaments scheduled for the players the night before we leave on the cruise, but with my back injury I have been slowed down.

I will try and find out when and if I can get a location for some mini-tournaments for all the tournament cruisers and also check on any gambling ships in the Jacksonville area we may all get together on.

    Jacksonville

    Brunswick

As I recall, FL does not allow table games at their land based Indian casinos and GA has none. I would speculate with the lack of competition, that there is no full pay VP either. Jacksonville about 10 miles South of GA boarder and Brunswick GA about an hour’s drive north from Jacksonville. Sorry I won't be able to be there with you all.

    Thanks Chips

Thanks for the heads up on the gambling ships and land based casinos around Jacksonville Chips.

We wish you and your wife could be there this year as well, but we understand why you won't be and wish you the best of luck in the Millionaire Maker tournament at Ceasars.

Glad to see you're well enough to be back posting TxTour. It's been pretty quiet around here!

    Alive anyway...LOL

Wish I could have made it to Shreveport. At least I will be well enough for the cruise in August.

    Just 80 days....

Thats right only 80 days before we set sail on the Blackjack cruise. That is just under three months from now, so if you want to go on the cruise time is running out.

Those that are already signed up can start counting down the days.

I guess we're down to about 77 days now and going down quickly. Storm and I get into Jacksonville about 4 pm the day before the cruise. We would definately be up for a meet and greet for dinner/drinks/gambling/whatever the night before the cruise.

    Meet and Greet

There are likely some good seafood joints around the cruise ship dock. Anyone know of a good one? We'll talk to the Hyatt hotel people for some recommendations when we get there Friday afternoon.

Anyone interested in a get-together Friday night should meet in the lobby of the hotel most of us are staying at, preferably near the cruise ship dock.

Let's use this thread to compile a list of where everyone interested in dinner is staying.

    Meet and Greet Continued

Hi all, Stormy and I are at the Holiday Inn Express which is suppose to be within walking distance of the cruise terminal. We're not getting in until late Friday afternoon so won't be able to make it to the Thursday meet and greet but would still be interested in getting together for dinner on Friday night. thrasht

    Friday dinner (8/11) sounds good

Swog and I will arrive in Jacksonville around 2:30 - 4:00 pm on Friday, 11th.

Getting together on Friday sounds great, how about 6:30 (early dinner). I have to go pick-up Bobbie (my wife), Elysses, and Joep from the airport later (around 10:40).

Luckygem and her daughter and Walt will get into town on Wed. and Monkeysystem & Karen get's in Thursday so y'all find a place near by where about 30 of us can all have dinner together.

    Oops

Actually, we aren't getting there until Friday afternoon, not Thursday as I previously posted.

Nevertheless we're getting there early enough in the afternoon to find a good place for dinner.

Friday at 6:30 pm should work well for us as our flight gets in about 4:30 which gets us to the hotel around 5:30- 6:00.
