    Rick and all,

Has anything been formalized about any precruise events? I think there was a post earlier about maybe doing something in Vegas on Saturday night (a party hosted by Vicktor) and I think you mentioned maybe a precruise event at a Casino in San Diego for Sunday night.

I asked Jim at Point Loma Travel to check into what Carnival recommends for hotels for Sunday. They usually have set ups where the hotel will include airport to hotel transfer and hotel to ship transfer if you stay there. If anyone has a recommendation for Sunday night accomodations please post. I will post what Jim sends me.

    Viktors party

I am planning to drive to San Diego (bringing the BJ tables and supplies) then fly up to Vegas for Viktors party on then fly back down to San Diego the next day.

As far as events in San Diego I don't have any planned. We talked about a Sunday BJ tournament at Barona Casino, but nothing ever came of it.

Were to stay in san Diego? I was planning on spending the night at Barona on Sunday (night before we sail).

Who is staying in San Diego?

Those of us staying in San Diego the night before the cruise should coordinate getting together for dinner or something.

As of now I am planning to stay at Barona casino on Oct.30th (in San Diego) It would be great if we could all get together the night before. I am all for it.

Anybody interested in meeting the night before departure please let us know so we can start planning a dinner for a large group.

    Staying at the Holiday Inn

Jim at Point Loma travel said that the Holiday Inn was right across the street from the ship terminal and they have a shuttle from the airport, so that is where we booked our stay for Sunday. It is also supposed to be right in the area where the tourist attractions are located so everything is within walking distance. If someone wants to organize dinner for Sunday night count us in.

    Barona Casino To Holiday Inn

A telephone receptionist at the Holiday Inn told me the taxi ride to the Barona Casino is about a half hour and $50. A telephone receptionist at the Barona Casino told me we could use the trolley to a bus station and then hop the casino bus from there. However, that would probably be for a day trip. There will likely be several of us staying in the area near the port. We could split cab fare out to the Barona. Either that or those staying at the Barona and elsewhere could travel to the port area. Either way sounds like the best bet for a bunch of us getting together.

Anyone interested in this get-together please post in this thread where you're staying and what you'd like to do and we can come up with a consensus, then a plan.

    By the port is fine

Sorry I didn't realize that Barona was so far away. I will have my truck with me since I am bringing the tables and equipment from Texas, so I can meet where ever everyone else wants to meet for dinner (night before departure).

    It is getting close.

    Rick,

Since you are staying at the Barona, why not see if you can arrange for them to send a limo or a shuttle bus to the dock area where a lot of us will be. We could book dinner there and also give them some action. If you can comp dinner, that would be even better!

    Damm Pat...LOL

This will be my first time there, I don't think I can get comps for everyone...LOL.

If it is as far away as I heard I may stay closer in myself though.

We're Flying Into San Diego Saturday Morning

Anybody else going to be at the Holiday Inn or nearby on Saturday?

As far as activities on Sunday goes everyone who's interested should all meet in the lobby of the Holiday Inn at some specific time on Sunday so we can go to dinner, or do whatever we plan to do. I'm flexible, but would like to go and check out the Barona casino; I've never been there and I want to see what everyone is raving about. :) We could have dinner there and then hit the tables.
