I know this is early but the Sault of Kewadin will be holding their first tourney the weekend of June 25th. $30,000

This is a sister casino to Ignace but larger with 387 room hotel and alot more BJ tables and the best VP to be found just about anywhere,,,and lots of it.

The tourney rules are the same as Ignace and on that Friday there is a very nice banquet for the players with drinks that starts at 5pm to 7pm and this is also where you pick up the packets and gift etc.

Ina is now taking reservations so you may want to call if interested, I know many are! 18005392346, dial 1 for locations, dial 1 for Sault, ask for Ina ex-53612.

    See Ya'll there..Eh!!

    I am in, ay?

Bring your passport if you want to go over the bridge, and watch out for your cell phone bill. Last time I was there, towers in Canada picked up my calls and I got a bad surprise in the mail a few weeks later. (T-Mobile).

    Isn't lookin' good

I called 5 days ago, left a detailed voicemail, haven't heard a peep back. If other folks' experience with Ignace is any indication, it ain't lookin' good.

I will make a call for you if you like???

Fact is Ina is very busy with other tourneys and this is the first BJ at this large location.

There are nearly 400 rooms there so they will accomodate more players than Iggy.

Not yet, but thanks!! Let's wait for now and see if anyone does call back. Good test run for a "new" BJT location as far as customer service.
Meskwaki has set a very high bar, we'll see if the Kewadin joints care to reach for that level.

    Count me in

I intend to be there. I called in my entry about a month ago. I think CP will line single guys like myself and Schultzy up with some of his female acquaintences.

It's one of the great values in blackjack tournaments and I hope to be there! Still have not heard back from Ina, but don't see a problem. There is a concert at the casino Saturday night. I plan to follow Billy C around and skim off his leftovers!

Just got a call back, I am in the tourney. Ina has been swamped with phone calls and is in the process of returning her messages. She said they are taking up to 180 players in the tourney. Thinking about going up a day early and taking in the scenery. This has the makings of being a very fun weekend in the U.P.

I also finally got a callback, Bruce and I are going to be there although there is a strong chance we'll miss the "party" on Friday evening.

    Call Back

There's going to be some Monkey business at Sault Ste Marie.

Can the Monkey get a third straight 7th place finish at Blackjack Blowout? :joker:

You'd better not get donked off on the final table again!!!!! It was painful enough the first two times, watching you get the cards from hell.

Sadly, I fear you're right. I don't even know where the closest airport would be that could take a jet airliner.
You'd probably be looking at some Indiana Jones type of travel adventure to get there.

If we weren't working, cheapest seems to be fly to Greeen Bay then drive, but since we will have started work by then, we don't have the time. Detroit then drive is farther but maybe faster. Perhaps next time. Good luck to all.

I'm thinkin' that a parachute might be better.
I can't speak to the drive from Green Bay, but Detroit is over 4 hours to the Mackinac Bridge (at Ignace), then another hour to the Soo. I'm sure there are better options, if you decide to try for a future Soo/Ignace BJT, Deb and I will be glad to advise as best we can.

We'd appreciate it. Not a part of the country I have ever visited.

I just did some checking and it's 565 miles from Minneapolis/St Paul. That's one of the reasons we are going to leave a day early. FYI, Ina was able to get us a Thursday night stay for $50, that is a bargain during the summer in the U.P.
