    Team Ubt

    Hmmm.

Didn't know UBT had a "TEAM"

But now the West Coast Grinders and MIT and the Carolina Cids and Oklahoma Okies and Mississippi Mud Hens and left out Las Vegas Pros and St. Louis Mafia and Atlantic City Misfits and the Texas Rangers and Louisianna Louges can join the fray to beat the crap out of the Midwest Independents.

How many team members will there be?

On Anthony Curtis LVA he mentions that the UBT will have a team UBT. The team members will be compensated for being on the team and wear UBT logo wear.

How will the team be made up? Will they be selected players or will they have to win their spot on the team?

Also AC mentioned about other teams will be welcome to play in the UBT. He wasn't sure if the other teams or players would be allowed to wear other logo wear for the tournaments.

I don't understand why another team shouldn't be able to wear another logo, thats like saying team UBT can wear a uniform and all others teams or players have to wear a plain white tee-shirt.

I hope UBT dose allow other logo's and that way we might be able to get outside sponsorship which would sure help with those $2,500 entry fees.

I would think starting up, UBT would like as many $2,500 entry fees as possible however they come in.

What can you tell us about this years UBT?

On the WSOB section yesterday I posted that only 63 players could play in the UBT format. I had just assumed  that it would be the same as all eight of last year’s tournaments, (dry-run and the seven at the Hyatt).

I wasn't trying to post bad information about the UBT, I was going by the only information that any of us had and that was from last year’s tournaments.

I am very pleased to hear that the UBT has 200 players for Aruba, with up to possibly 400 players for this coming September’s tournament. :D

I love the fact the UBT is going to offer "OPEN" and basically unlimited entries into their events this year.

What else can you tell us at this time?

    1) When will the online tournaments begin?

    A) What will the entry be for the online qualifiers?

    B) Will they be guaranteed prize money or based off of the players who attend?

    C) I read UBT is planning on hosting online "FREEROLL" tournaments for a month? If so when or is this false information?

    D) I read that the online "FREEROLL" tournaments would offer $10,000 per day in prize money, is this correct or false information?

    2) When and where will the land-based qualifiers be?

    A) What will the entry be for these qualifiers?

    B) Will they be guaranteed prize money or based off of the players who attend?

    3) From Joep's post yesterday ($2,500 X 400 = $1,000,000) I assume the prize money will all be based on the number of entries and the return will be 100% for Aruba. Is this correct?

    A) Will any of the UBT events have a guaranteed prize starting out and as more players sign up the prize pool goes up?

    B) Will any money be taken out for expenses? As long as we know before hand I have no problem with it. I just don't want another LVH last minute changes.

    4) Since more players than last years 63 per tournament are allowed to play in this years UBT events will there be a re-buy option for players?

    A) If so will it be another $2,500 or less?

    5) Will "Wild Cards" be added (If needed) to level out the tables?

    6) Where is the Aruba tournament being held and what are the dates?

    A) I assume the UBT will be held at or close by where the poker tournament is being held. Will we have a certain hotel close to the tournament we need to stay at.
    B) Is there any UBT discounts for the hotel?

    7) Last night on the radio show Joep and Kenny mentioned that several tournaments are scheduled for the up coming year, (like around 16-18 tournaments). Can you tell us when and where those tournaments are going to take place?

    8) Is there a set percentage for prize money in each of the tournaments?

    A) With possible 400 players will UBT payout more places or still just pay the final table?

    9) Will an online or land base qualifier be part of "TEAM UBT" or will the team be made up of selected players?

    10) Will all the scheduled UBT tournaments be filmed for CBS?

    11) What type of release will the players have to sign to be on TV?

    12) Will players draw for their seating and table assignments or will seating be pre-assigned?

    13) Are there any changes from last years UBT events for this years scheduled events? (Other than allowing more than 63 players per tournament).

I don't want to be spreading bad information online or anywhere else again so if you could answer these questions it would help all of us and all of us players would appreciate it.

    Teams:

    Man o Man.

    Delicate subject here.

I've been working on a piece, ever since the on line poker guy lost the big bucks for violating rules.

Right now the "piece" is way to long for anyone to stay focused, but....Exactly what does "team" say to the independent schliemel?

All kinds of room for "team" members to manipulate a table, a round, a final.

I guess if every ONE is restricted by the published rules, it may not matter. But still, some top experts plying an edge through collaboration to fund the corporation, even against another "team"......tuna fish and twinkiess may not be enough survival provisions.

RICK: Russ also told me that everything should be coming out soon (less than a month).

Russ, thank you for taking the time to call me and go over all my questions.

I hope to see you and Team UBT in Aruba this September (if I can get sponsorship anyway...LOL).
