There is a $250 added BJ tournament on UB on Monday Feb 21st at 3 PM and another one on Feb 28th.
The entry fee is $5.50 and the minimum # of players is 12.

It is restricted to those who know the password... but I'm sure you can find it!

    It's a start.................

Hopefully they will get enough entries to make more of them a possibility.
I can't play at that time (work) but if these go well, perhaps they'll have more at a different time!

    Tournaments

These are PokerTube supported tournaments. Don't know if you need to be a member of PokerTube to play, but you will need a password from PokerTube. Doesn't cost anything to join PokerTube, so would at least be polite if you did so. Being a member also may open up some money added poker tournaments on UB and other sites to you. For some of PokerTube's money added tournaments, you have to have signed up for the site through PokerTube, others seem to be password accessible. I think we should try to support these tourneys, including signing up for PokerTube, to encourage them to keep on with these.

My point for not writing it here was to encourage people to visit the sponsor's web site ;)

That's good - at least the payout was covered (barely!!!).
If this continues or even improves, maybe they'll continue them - and perhaps add more.

    Payout

Payout was the buyins PLUS $250. It was a money added tournament ... guaranteed overlay.

Ohhhhhhh, OK. Missed the "added" in Z's original post & hadn't checked it out because I can't play on Monday afternoons.
Hope someone from here (BJT.com) took it down.

How can anyone trust UB enough to play on it?

Humans don't stop travelling by plane after a plane crash and they don't stop eating seafood after someone got poisoned. Or maybe they stop for a few weeks.

No, but they probably switch airlines, and pick a different restaurant.

Some will leave and some will stay, for different reasons. We can't expect everyone to behave the same way.

    Bottom line?

I guess my bottom line is "they may be cheating me, but I'm still winning money and cashing out profits". No other site offers bj tournaments to USA players with reasonable (or no) fees for withdrawals and acceptable deposit methods and costs. With the UIGEA in force, and sometimes actually being enforced, the ability to move money in and out of sites is restricted, and sometimes disrupted with actions against processors, etc. UB may not be a good option, but it pretty much is the only viable option for blackjack tournaments. So as long as I can make some money on it, why wouldn't I? Moral outrage is nice, but it doesn't buy me a Big Mac.

Kind of my feelings. But for the small stakes? Nickels and dimes don't addup anymore. And for BJ, well it's the only game you can play inyour underware.

I play poker and BJ at UB because I've won and been paid out by far more then any other site...the volume top players stayed away (not true anymore) because of the scandals

    OK I'm a hypocrite and a liar.

Or gently, Kuzek, zweeky and felix changed my mind. They are all very correct in what they said. I kind of forgot how "nice" it was to play bj tournaments on line. The poker isn't bad either. And I'll speculate that as long as one is not shootin four figures,"no one cares"

There were 47 participants in the second one today. mikey754 got first place, congrats!

There are actually a few videos (!) of the first event on pokertube's website, they can be found with the word blackjack in the search box. Hard for me to believe, but it is displayed than one of them has been viewed more than 2700 times!
