chip stacks "All chips must be separated by denomination and in full view. $5 in stacks of 5, $25 in stacks of 4, and $100 in stacks of 5." This is a signicant improvement to Rick's chip stack rule. It would really help us cranky old farts who have trouble counting chip stacks.
That can be a lot of stacks? At stacks that low there sure would be a lot of stacks. probably a lot of double and triple stacks and anytime multiple stacks are allowed higher value chips can be hidden on the bottom and the middle or back stacks. This is why I don't care for that small of stacks, to much chance for problems. A TD and players need an unobstructed view for all the players chips. Even if the chips where stacked incorrectly by accident, it would be a heck of a way to lose the table. I did notice their rules sound a lot like the TBJPA's, hopefully I had some influence in them.
A good rule! I'd like to see this implemented in ALL tourneys. People with failing eyesight should not be at a disadvantage! What Tex says can easily be solved by "coloring up" the chips. Billy C
Billy C. I know first hand about failing eyesight, but stacks of 10 are not bad and eliminates the issues I mentioned above. I do believe that regardless of how many chip per stack they should be uniform. Stacks of 5 or stacks of 10, I don't like different stack sizes for different values.
Chips stacks everywhere, still missed by $10 Yes the chips get a little crowded but even for us middle age guys, I gotta admit it was kind of nice to be able to get a chip count at a glance. Shuffling only three decks doesn't take that long, so you can scan count and still have plenty of time to make a decision. If it is any consolation to those with failing eyesight a legally blind gentleman who is a fierce competitor and hilarious to sit next to, took first place last Wednesday.
