    VIP Tournaments

I'd like to enter some of the August Tournament events in LV/Hen
(so generously posted by Rick). A couple BJ and the two Craps games.
I'm not even close to being ready for the Hilton.

I presume that VIP tournaments are invitational events. Is it possible
to worm one's way into them without being on the casino's list??? What would be the best way to approach the promotions department-being a non-invitee??

    Thanks Rich Garcia

    Call VIP marketing department

At Stardust call the number listed 1-888-633-2121 and talk to Marylee, tell her I sent you (Rick Jensen) and you should be able to get in both the BJ and Dice tournaments. Pay by end of July and save $25 on BJ tournament.

The New Frontier is open but still call them and sign up (no payment needed to sign up just tell them you'll pay when you get there).

Harrahs, the best way to get in is call your local Harrahs rep. and try getting in that way.

Good luck, hope to see you out in Vegas.

Are you hosting any tournaments in vegas? When is your next Hilton satellite? How many Hilton satellites have you had? Wish you would have some here in Miss., could you hold some here? Would like to play in the Hilton but I only enter high entry fee touraments thru low cost satellites (poker has lots of these). Thanks in advance for the info.

    Here we go,

#1. I am not planning on running any tournaments on this trip, I am going to be playing to many tournaments. I found out the hard way (in May) that playing and running them on the same day will drain you. I am planning on hosting some more in the near future.

#2. I plan the satellite tournaments around my members schedules, we need around 15-20 for a good tournament (the $1,000 entry has to be covered or whats the use of holding one). I hope to hold one in late August or early Sept. I try to run 3-4 on the same day, it makes it worth wide for anyone that travels in to play. Entries are $75 for 15-19 players or $50 for 20 or more, all re-buys (limit one per tourney) are $50. Number of tables and players per table based on number of players entries. Two players min. advance every table until finals, players vote on number of hands for each tournament, (I feel the players should vote on this since their paying the entry fees), deal rotates.

#3. Ran several, but had poor attendance in the begining. It is still hard working around everyones schedules. The killers are the ones who say they will come and don't show up, they hurt everyone.

#4. I have tried to get other casinos to host satellites for the Hilton, but their thoughts are "Why run a tournament to make another casino money"!
As far as I know, I am still the only one east of Vegas running these satellite tournaments.

#5. I understand, play low to win high. I will start posting my up coming tournaments (satellites) and maybe some players other then the Dallas/Ft. Worth locals would like to try them. The big thing now is poker tournaments, I am running more of them then I ever did the blackjack.

Note: All the tournaments I run are LEGAL, 100% of all entry, re-buys and or add-on's go back as prize money unless the event (tournament) is noted as a fund raisier for charity prior to the event. They're is no house, rake, cut from any pot nor is they're any expence money taken out of the prize pool.

    Get us the TV dates!

I'm sure someone here will be calling to register soon for the August Hilton qualifier.

When you do, please ask Les or Joanne for any available schedule information about the Travel Channel coverage of MDBJ2, and post what you learn.

    Thanks!
