Well, as the satellite process is winding down, GSN still has a handful of seats that will be manually filled using their own selection criteria. That means that you have another way to get into the big money. Here's the scoop, direct from GSN: Attention World Class Blackjack Players! The WORLD SERIES of BLACKJACK 2006 is looking for the best of the best in blackjack tournament players, to compete in this year’s World Series for a share of the $1 million purse. There are very limited invitations remaining. If you would like to be considered for this prestigious event, please send your tournament credentials and a recent picture to: worldseriesofblackjack3@gmail.com Due to the limited number of remaining seats, we suggest that you submit ASAP.
I'd like to invite everyone back to the World Series of Blackjack guide at TV.com once the series starts airing again! If you're interested, there's no need to send your credentials, just stop by! (I'll add the info about this to the guide!)
Video I think everyone got the questionaire, the next step appears to be a video. I would think that anyone who has played on TV has an advantage since you can send that instead of making up one of your own. Good luck to anyone still in the race! Pat
Sorry to hear that Mo. I'm not to confident about the video I did. Just keeping my fingers crossed and putting in an entry every day on AOL. Maybe we both can get lucky there and spend a week in Vegas at AOL's expense!
To a point I think you should lay-off at time also... Hopefully my FedEx package was picked up by them yesterday. Sidekick
Video Finished my video today, I think it came out pretty good. Have been corresponding with Darren Toon, so far so good, keeping my fingers crossed!
How Many? Just wondering how many took the time to go thru all the steps and send in all the required info? Hopefully some weeded theirselves out by not submitting everything. Any idea on when GSN will make the selections? Good Luck to all. Take Care Capt.
Number... Your guess is as good as anyone's. Rest assured that the number of submissions were undoubtedly very high. Good luck to you as you wait to hear. My understanding is that they won't make a decision until after all the Qualifiers have been completed and put to bed so to speak. I would think that by the middle of this month they will make their decision as to who gets invited, based on whatever criteria that they have established. Make it a GREAT day today...
Sounds right I think the selections will be made around the Feb. 13th. Not sure what all GSN is looking for, but I don't think they want any loud ex-marine types that talks to the cards....LOL. Dreamer, I hope to be out in Vegas later this month, we need to get together for dinner. Be good my friend.
Dates for WSOB? All I know is that it is at LVH, is there exact dates for the tournament released and so forth? Any info appreciated. Take Care Capt.
I was told... What I heard from the Cherokee casino in Tulsa is that the winners have to be in Vegas on Feb. 26th. If like last year we got in on Monday and left on Sunday, but I would wait to book anything until it is offical.
Capt. Blackjack asks:"is there exact dates for the tournament released and so forth? Any info appreciated." The GSN/AOL Sweepstakes describes the prize as follows: quote ------------------------------------------------------------------- Eight (8) Grand Prizes: an 8-day/7-night trip for the winner and one (1) guest to Las Vegas, NV on February 26, 2006 through March 5, 2006 including round-trip coach class air transportation for winner and guest from major gateway airport nearest winner's home, round-trip ground transportation via private sedan service between winner's home and gateway airport, round-trip ground transportation via private sedan service between airport and hotel in Las Vegas, 7 night's hotel accommodations (double occupancy) at the Las Vegas Hilton (or similar), a "Welcome¨ dinner for winner and guest at a restaurant located within the Las Vegas Hilton (or similar), a $1,000 food allowance, and an opportunity for the winner to participate in a mini-tournament in which the two (2) highest scorers (as determined by GSN in accordance with the rules of the mini-tournament) will be awarded a seat in GSN's World Series of Blackjack. endquote ---------------------------------------------------------------- The mini-tournament will obviously precede the WSOB itself. Good Luck!
Thanks Thanks TX and Philly for the info. With the Aol giveaway, you still have the mini-tourney to qualify. With the WSOB, I assume the player is responsible for his rooms and meals. I'm sitting on rooms that are comped around those dates at other places close by if need be. I know my chances are very slim but as one stated earlier, I've got to hold on to my dreams and hope. Now just being patient and waitning. Sure wish I was going to Tunica this weekend but with prior commitments, could not squeeze it in. Good luck to all. Take Care Capt.
Room & food.... Capt. BlackJack the hotel and food will be picked up by GSN for all contestants. They will stay at the LV Hilton and also be given $50 per day in food comps. I also believe the minimum amount awarded will be $1,000 to each contestant. That's all the good stuff, now it is just getting on the show to get it.
Former Jarhead... Cowboy: Probably right about the Loud Mouth "Former Marines" thing, but as with the rest of the hundreds or so others who are waiting, I'll continue to dream while at the same time continue on with enjoying life and trying to make a positive difference in the lives of those I meet on a regular basis. Make it a great rest of the week. Look forward to seeing you when you're here. Green Valley Ranch Buffet, here we come... Skipper
