Maybe Not that Far Away You know that when the day comes that 2,000 plus people play in a Blackjack Tournament the payouts could go to the top 10% of the field .Just like it does in just about every poker tournament. With the kick off of season 2 of the UBT and the first time that a season long UBT Blackjack Tour will be shown on national TV exposing this to all of America. Starting on Sept 16th on CBS at 2PM eastern .The possibility does exists that we will start to see tournaments having up to 1000 players . Lets just take a look at what the prize pool would look like with 1000 players @ 2500 entry adds up to a 2.5 Million Dollar Tournament prize pool With this large of a prize pool the top 100 players could receive payouts and still have 750,000 prize for 1st place. In poker the first tier of payout starting at 100th place usually repays the player their entry fee and a small profit. Joep
They will have to change their payouts, BJ has always been top heavy, as an example at the Starburst you could make the final table and still lose money.
On A Roll Debbie Lavigne has done it again in one of the last "Mega Satellites" held last night at the WSOP she won her seat into the main event beating out 458 players. 508 players ponied up 1K each and they gave away 50 seats into the main event. The tournament started at 1PM and it didn't end until 12:45 am. Try playing blackjack for 11 hours and 45 minutes. Debbie along with about 5 BJT members will be playing for a first prize in excess of 10 Million dollars Last week Debbie beat the boys up pretty good coming in 16th place out of over 2,00 players . Cashing in for 37K Good Luck to all of them I will keep the board posted if any of our members make it deep into the tournament.
