The Garden City Group, which is the firm hired to handle the claims against Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet (as well as Full Tilt), is now paying out the first round of claims. If you had money on one of these sites when the federal government shut them down and seized their assets, you can still file a claim to get that money returned, if you have not already done so. The web site you need to go to is: www.AbsolutePokerClaims.com. This is the website for both Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet claims. You have until September 7th to file a claim. If you have already filed a claim, you need to go to this web site to provide the Garden City Group with your bank account information so they can send you the refund of your account balance. You should do this as soon as possible. They are refunding 100% of account balances.

I made the first deadline which was in June and have been informed that my cheque is in the mail.

A while ago I received a postcard from them because they apparently did not have my email on file, inviting me to get in touch in order to get a 'petition id'.

I initially didn't bother as I was pretty sure I had no money in my UB account when it got shut down.

But at the last minute I decided it would be foolish not to double check...

I've decided to let them keep the 4 cents I have now discovered was my closing balance.:)

I would take pleasure in forcing them to spend much more than that to get the 4 cents to me.

My balance was definitely worth pursuing. I had given up on ever getting any of it back 5 years ago.

The thought did cross my mind.

UB was a distant memory when the postcard arrived out of the blue. I thought it might be some kind of scam until I saw your first post on the subject. Glad to hear you and others are finally getting reimbursed!

I received my cheque this week. I hope others who had money there have taken advantage of this.
