Good luck to everyone still playing.
BJMAILMAN, well done as always, for your son, wife, and yourself.
Could you explain the inequities of the type of tournament they have to the powers that be. Try to find the tournament director.
    Just give him this example.
Let's say two advance from the table.
    BR1 has $15,000
    BR2 has $5,100
    BR3 has $5,000
BR3 bets first on the final hand and bets $5,000.
    BR2 bets the same and has the H & L on BR3.
The dealer turns over a BJ, and BR2 advances.
Here is the problem......he takes his $100 to the next round to battle BR1 who has $14,900.
Not a very fair way to hold an event.
If I am mistaken about the rules, please correct me, but they need to be informed about other/better ways to play an event of this magnitude.
    Good luck all.

First goodluck to EastTxpro. Told you guys to come try. The tournament is very well run. There is times when someone with very little advance. But, mostly everybodies pretty close together. Then there's the one that gets way ahead. My second round table BR1 2500, 2300, 2200, me 2000, 1800, and 1600. The guy with 1800 went down to 600 and then on the 11th hand had a 15 hand winning streak to end with 4000. The guy with 1600 finished with 3100 to advance and I got wildcard with 2750. I think advancing the highest nonadvancing players is better than a random drawing. My third round table BR1 6100 chip leader, 4500, 4400, 3300, 3000, and me 2750. None of us could win a hand, but the guy with 6100 kept betting big and busted out (dumb). I guy won the table with 2000. My bad luck story. The casino has played all their tournaments with the carryover your chips policy and that will not change. As the old saying goes "A chip and a chair". My wife went from 200 on the 14th hand to win the table with 10000 by the 21st hand at Kiowa. Every quarterly there are people who start with 1 to 10 chips and make it to the final table. It may not always be fair but it's the chance to win most are playing for.

Well Saturday Was Not A Good Day. 2nd Round Finished 2nd On Table With 2700, If The Guy That Finished In Third Knew What He Was Doing He Could Have Shut Me Out And I Would Have To Hope For A Wildcard. But He Gave Me The Chance To Advance Even Though I Only Made 50 Chips In The Round. Third Round Was A Disaster. Could Not Buy A Hand. Everybody Else At Table Was Getting Their Share Of Blackjacks And Twenties. One Guy Went From Around 2200 To 12900. 29th Hand Had 3400 And 1000 Bet Doubled A Hard 14 And Drew A 5 Against 8 Dealer Had 8 In Hole And Drew 5 For 21. 30th Hand Doubled Hard 18 For Less 400 And Drew A 3, Won Hand. Win 29th Hand And Finish With 6000 Plus Would Have Wildcarded. But You Never Know. Heard This Might Be Last Year For Comanche Million, Have You Heard Anything Up In Lawton Bjmailman?

I asked if they were going to have another in 2008, but I found noone who knew. Leads me to believe no more. I don't know why not, because it's a big money maker for them.

I Heard That Apache Is Fixing To Start Blackjack, Ran By Ken Who Used To Be At Red River, He Was The Man Behind The Million Dollar Tournament, I Heard Maybe Several Ex Red River Blackjack Employs Will Be Working There. Maybe They Can Come Up With Something Good.

They use to have BJ. Just called them said BJ and Craps would start Feb or March. They use to have little $15 buy in tournaments Wed night and two on Sunday. The format was 6 per table, 10 hands low out, 3 times, those 3 make another table of 6, 36 max players.

Thanks For The Info. Is Last Years Million Dollar Winner Jessica Still Dealing At Comanche Nation? Have Not Had Chance To Get Up There In A While. Actually Have More Luck At Comanche Nation Than Red River Or Kiowa. Good Luck In Future Tournaments.

Seen Jessica deal once, not since. The players pool at Comanche Nation has been taking a lot of hits lately. $20000 three times, $14000 last week, and it finally went up $8000 to $39000 this week. It should be near $200000 normally. Nobody knows who won that much. Had some guys from Texas take $5-8000 apiece, but one lady lost $20000 in a week. Going to be a small prize pool for January.

EastTXpro how did you do and what did you think of the tournament? Who won?

EastTXpro didn't advance today, the cards just weren't with him. Still he made about $750 during the week and at least $1,000 for the semifinals he told me, maybe more.

This next part is to try and answer Swog's concern about how the event was run. EastTXpro did tell me the format and rules for the Red River event are pretty weak, but the casinos put up the money and control how they run their events.

When I started the TBJPA, it was to try and show the casinos that if the players were given a good format and rules, that they would come play and support the events.

Well that didn't work very well unfortunately. The only thing we showed the casinos is unless we have a guaranteed prize pool (regardless of the foormat and rules) the players will not support the event.

The time for crying over formats and rules is all but gone. Now we are pretty much left at the mercey of whatever the casinos are willing to offer us now.

To bad you couldn't make it TX. It hardly mattered to me what the format was. It was my chance at a $1mil at a very low fee (optional). Really had my hope going when me and my son were one round from the money. Monday Dec 17 me and my wife are playing at Kiowa Casino BJ tournament (had to win your way in). And you know Rick that is a format you have to get use to. I'll find out about their future BJ tournaments. Maybe I'll see some of you back here. The casinos do give away alot of money around here and if you're close enough to one it could be worth your while.

I qualified for the Red River quarterly events the past two years, I just couldn't make it up there because of other obligations or I would have been up there for the million dollar event both years regardless of their format and rules.

Different formats and rules are commom in most tournaments, but it is up to each player which events we play in.

Red River is only 2 hours from my house, but because of the number of days required to play in this event, it would require being away from home longer then if I were playing several events in Las Vegas.

If the format and time was more favorable I'm sure I would have played in it the last two years.

I'm sure I'll qualify next year for one of the quarterly events, hopefully I'll get to make it this time.

I heard a guy from Frederick, OK won the $1mil tournament. One guy from my local Comanche Nation finished 7th. Last year they televised the tournament on ESPN. Sign up for the next quarterly starts Dec 22 and ends Dec 31. The quarterly will probably be played on Jan 6 or 13. The Red River quarterly is 2 weeks after.

Just got done playing the quarterly. 200+ entries, $55000 prize pool, first $18000. At least finished 21st for $175. They announced there would be a third $1mil tournament (Dec 08) and now I already qualified. KyleP you playing the quarterly at Red River? I see on their website they got an interesting BJ tournament with 5 points for rebuys and 20 points for the final table (to go toward the quarterly). KyleP do you know more about this? Kiowa is having a Sunday and Monday $3000 prize pool $10 buy in rebuy. Maybe more of you can make this years $1mil tournament. What did Easttxpro finish with?

Today was the first Sunday Red River Knockout tournament.

It is a $20 buy in with $10 rebuys.

    Each session is seven hands.

You get 5 hours for each re-buy and 20 hours for making it to the final table.

So it is a great way to pile up the hours for the quarterly tournament.

Kiowa's Sunday and Monday tournaments now both have a $20 buy in and $20 rebuys.

    Comanche Red River Quarterly

Final Table On 1/21/08. Total Prize Pool Around $45000. First Place Won A Little Over $18000. I Finished 20th, Paid $300. Qualified For The Million Dollar Tourney. New Knockout Tourneys On Sundays At Red River, Do Not Really Know The Format Too Well, But Understand You Can Build Up Hours Easily For Playing. Started Out Just Going To Be In January Do Not Know If They Will Continue. Going To Try Out This Weekend. I Heard It Pays $500 To Win $20 Entry With $10 Rebuys. If This Quarterly Is Any Indication Of Turnouts For The Others, Looks Like All Entrants Will Qualify For The Million Dollar Tourney. I Am Estimating That Less Than 200 Actually Showed Up To Play January Quarterly At Crrc.
