Can anyone confirm that this monthly tournament has changed from the 1st Tuesday to the 2nd Sunday of the month? Our tournaments calendar still shows 1st Tuesday but Four Winds website shows 2nd Sunday. I tried calling Casino, but wasn’t able to talk to anyone. Have any other details of the Tournament changed? Thanks for your help.
It has been 2nd Sunday since last September. 5pm registration. Play starts at 7. Attendance has been down since change. Staff change. Loose on rules. Allowing a ton of kibitzing and stack inquiries. Kind of good practice. But a lot of short falls from when it was on Tuesdays.
Thanks, noman. This was my very first tournament a few years back. I didn’t know what I was doing, and my results proved that. But I did enjoy meeting other players and they seemed quite cordial. Since it’s next Sunday and not this Tuesday, I’ll have to skip it, but I wanted some practice before Buffalo Run in late April, so I hope to make next month. Do you play regularly in the Four Winds tournaments?
I don't make all of them. But, I try to make as many as I can. Most times I wonder why. I have better results at less frequented venues, with better competition.
I was at the Four Winds last night, and confirmed with one of the pit bosses that the monthly blackjack tournament has been discontinued. He didn't know if it was a permanent change, or if they would one or two higher dollar tournaments like they've had in the past
Well I'm going up blind Sunday May 12 as if it's on. I'll report back. I know at the April tourney the word was Firekeepers cancelled their third Thursday tourney.
Don't go. I just called them. It's been cancelled and the phone person told me she hadn't been told it's ever coming back.
Yep. Yep. Yep. Mtaylor had the skinny from the get go. Brief discussion with a floor person: "Maybe come back in fall." "They have to gage interest".....HOW "Turnout was low on Sunday." They moved it from sold out status on Tuesdays. "Not enough dealers. No body wants to work anymore." "Watch web site for future info." Another one bites the dust.
