    Chuck Gorson's Reviews

I was disappointed in "The Casino". Far from reality-TV, it was a series of not particularly well-scripted, not particularly well-acted fictitious vignettes.

Nonetheless, Mr. Gorson is now a known card-counting high roller. And the reviews of Mr. Gorson over at The Las Vegas Advisor message boards are scathing. (The posters think his character is real.) I hope he was compensated well for playing his part.

    Guess what...

Chuck is a real person and that is his real name. I'll give him credit that he was able to laugh at himself, because I was rolling on the floor.

    Enjoyed the show

So far I ahve enjoyed the show. I have stayed at the GN a few times and seeing it on TV just makes me want to be there... I certainly thought the first show was a bit strange with the cross-dresser thing... kinda hard to figure out what is real life and what is staged... But overall, the first 2 shows have been pretty decent from my perspective....

    One or Two?

I thought Fox's "Casino" has only been on once, did I miss one?

Yes, first episode was with Chucky, second with the swingers

    Swingers?

So far they had a cross dresser and swingers? Fox should have called it "Sex in Vegas" not "Casino". Did they show any gambling at all on the last show?

Yes, had some high rollers that kept losing and how the casino treated them. Actually fairly accurate. Dee Cotton (Dir of MKTing) played a larger roll in this episode, smoothing things out. They ended up dropping 100 large, coming back from being down 200 (28 year old millionair and his followers - first time at the GN - said he usually played MB - dice, BJ and BAC). Shredding the cards at baccarat was the defining point (as opposed to tearing them). Show was on just before most folks joined chat last nite. Discussed a fair bit before you joined. Not high reviews from most. Looks like each episode will contain something re gaming and a sex issue if the pattern holds! American Casino on discovery channel seems a bit more realistic thus far. BTW, you mentioned a tourney at the Fitz on 21 and 22 Aug. Is that one of yours or theirs?

    Possible Fitz?

It none right now, I am working on it though. It will be a Fitz/Texas Tournament combination if it happens. One thing "FOR SURE" all entries will be made at the cashiers cage! No problems and I can get some sleep this trip, in May I was a walking zombie (3 hours sleep for last three days).

It will compliment the Stardust and New Frontier if they host it. If they do we may even host some Super-Mini's again during the week (of an evening time). If your like me I perfer multiple tournaments when I go out (more cost effective for travel).

I WILL NOT play in any of them (if we hold them) not worth the hassle. Most didn't care about me playing, but those who did give me hell. I lost both times in the first round, talk about "DEAD MONEY"...lol!

    Proposed Tournaments for Fitz are:

    Main on Sat. 21st & Sun. 22nd
    180 players with up to 120 re-buys
    $275 entry + $40 fee and $150 re-buys,

Five rounds, 6 per table (max), 24 hands (each player gets puck 4 times), count after 19th hand, start with $500 funny money with $10 - $200 betting limits, 2 advance (min) from each table until the finals.

    Super-Mini's

    7:00 PM - 10:00 PM Tues. 17th - Sun. 22nd (up to 6 SM)
Entries may vary from night to night, maybe even "Live Money" buy-in.
No wild cards and no re-buys!

This time we'll start with 9 tables for first round!

54 players, three rounds, 24 hands (each player gets puck 4 times), count after 19th hand, start with $500 funny money with $10 - $200 betting limits, 2 advance (min) from each table until the finals.

Remember this is just talk right now, nothing is set YET!
