I was planning to drive down for their June tourney but I can't justify the cost. $200 entry fee, $291.30 for 2 nights room and about $130 for round trip gas. These costs, combined with the fact that so much of the purse is casino chips rules it out for me. Good luck to all of you BJTERS that will be there! Billy C
Due to the help of a couple of tournament friends, I'm now able to somewhat justify playing in this event. Looking forward to seeing some of you BJTERS there in 2 weeks. Billy C
Thanks for making the trip Billy. I hope you got home safely by now. We knew going in that the $200 buy/re-buy was no bargain but glad you advanced without the cost of a re-buy. No one expected the turn out and the resulting chaos, including the Gold Strike folks. I think the attendance, even at the low ROI, proves how starved the Tunica County area players are for tournament opportunities. We’ll see if Gold Strike, and possibly some other casinos who hear of the turn out will respond with more Blackjack events. Hopefully you can come back again and that they can streamline their tournament process by that time. And, thanks for having dinner with us Saturday night. There were a lot of folks there who were really glad to get to visit with you. We’ll see you on July 12-13-14 at Buffalo Run!
Thank you so much for your assistance. I thoroughly enjoyed the comarederie that was present at the Saturday night dinner. Great group of people there! Thanks again. Billy C
first place would be real good,, save your money, think they have this one every year about this time
We missed you at Gold Strike George. I hope we get to see you at the Buffalo Run tournament July 13-14. I talked with Candra, and a new guy that she was training to do registrations, a good bit about any upcoming tournaments and she said they are planning more this year, but had no details as to when. One nice twist this tournament was that, at the time they drew the one name for the final seat on the final table, they also drew nine names who each received $900 CASH. I'm not sure but best I can speculate is that there was an excess $8,100 in buys/re-buys and they chose this way of giving it back to players. Strange, because those whose names were drawn came out better than some who were at the final table. I guess you could say that those lucky nine folks got paid $360 per hour for the 2-1/2 hours they stood in line to register
