For those who remember Lou, I regret to have to let you all know that Lou passed away yesterday here in St. Charles MO. I don't have any other info at present. Lou was a great guy whom many of us cared very much for and will greatly miss.

I first met Lou several years ago in St. Louis at a BJT. He offered me a free room for the night (the hotel was full) so I could play in a Pai Gow tournament the next day. Over the years we stayed in touch until he moved to Florida. Great guy and an excellent tournament blackjack player. Rest in peace my friend.

    Tgun;

Not to jump the meaning of this post, but we were wondering if you were affected in anyway by the horrible weather yesterday in your area? Hoping you are safe.

Lou was a sweetie and a great BJT player. I haven't seen him in several years but have always considered him a friend. The St Louis Mafia is short a great member.

I too hope that the severe storms missed you. I don't know if I had ever met Lou but the name seems vaguely familiar-----------was he possibly with you at the tourney in Tama, IA a few years ago when I first met you?
Please accept my condolences for your loss.

    Storms not related

Lou had a bad heart for several years. His heart just quit working and he died peacefully while playing cards with two old friends at his kitchen table.

Billy you did meet Lou at Tama.

His wife Sue is holding a memorable for him this Thur., his wishes were to be cremeted with no fanfare.

    RIP Lou

I'm extremely saddened by this news, Lou presented me with a Saint Louis Mafia membership card at an Oklahoma BJ tournament stating "congratulations, you've been voted the first honorary member of the Mafia".

Tgun, please give Sue my sympathies. I hope all is well with you and Jan, the beautiful blond that somehow puts up with you.

    RIP Lou

Lou was a joy to know and an outstanding tournament player. Like Rookie, I was honored to be tapped into the brotherhood of the St. Louis Mafia.
Sue, Tammie and I are thinking of you at this difficult time.

    So, so sad

Tgun, so saddened by this news. Remember so distinctively you and Lou helping me record real names with faces of those of us who played together on Global for so long...I think it was in Tunica, maybe. I carried it with me and referenced it often when we played "on tour". Frank loved hitting the links with him in Oklahoma and he beat Frank like a drum, just like at the table! They were always making plans to do it again sometime.

He was a real special friend and will be missed! Such a proud and loyal St. Louis Mafia member and those characteristics were very much a part of him.

Tgun, I have an old address somewhere for Sue. Would you please PM me a current address. Please give her our love and, should you see her, let her know we are grieving with her.

    Hi to Jan. Lee/Frank Elder

    Lou Congemi RIP

Sorry to hear about Lou Congemi. I send out my heartfelt condolences to his wife Sue, family and friends.

The St Louis Mafia were really good to me when I travelled over from England to play in my first ever BJ tournament in Seattle 2007.

I seem to remember from my Global days that Lou was LHENRC, Sue was sooziec, Jan was swede21 and tgun was always tgun.

I will never forget the kindness that they showed a nervous Brit playing his first tourney in the Iron Horse Casino Seattle.

    RIP my friend

I was sad to heard one of the nicest guy around had past away. Lou was always so nice and supportive of me when I was trying to start up tournaments and attended most all of them and always had that big smile on his face when I saw him.
I'll miss you you my friend, I wish nothing but Ace's & Face's for you.
    R.I.P. Lou!

I had the privilege of meeting Lou on one of the blackjack tournament cruises, and once or twice at tournaments thereafter. He was a great guy, easy conversationalist, and fearsome blackjack tournament player.

    My condolences, Sue...
