In response to the chatroom requests, I've installed a chatroom on the site, available here: http://www.blackjacktournaments.com/chat.php I can see several useful ways to utilize it, with a weekly get-together there. What time each week would be convenient? Also, how about a weekly tournament in the chatroom. One of us can volunteer to be the dealer, shuffling and dealing the cards, and typing the cards drawn. Let me know how you'd like to proceed.
Chatroom Is there a way to show on the main message tabs, how many people are in the chat room? This might intice others to join if they know someone is in there.
That sounds like an excellent idea, though I expect it will not be technically feasible with the free version of chat that we're currently running. I'll check into it.
Blackjack Chat I suggest we put this new chat room to some use! It seems like most of us are available on Monday nights around 8pm MST (same time the GSN was showing the Mohegan Sun tournaments) and I propose that we hold a regular chat session then. Perhaps Ken could pick a topic each week or if someone submits a question, we could discuss the question then. Just an idea. Would love to talk with all of you in real time. Chat vs. Fox's "Casino" Remember tomorrow nights chat is scheduled when Fox network preveiws their new show "Casino". Would it be better to reschedule the chat for another day?
That's a good point, though I'll be recording the show anyway via ReplayTV. Any other opinions about the schedule?
Selfish Subject for Discussion. How about how Ken and I, the two better dressed MEN at the Hilton finals last month, intend to qualify in our next Hilton test (later this week for me). Will you be here as well Ken Fashion?
Time Keeper The show will be premiering 9/8Central. That will be an hour before our chat so we can continue with our chat during regular time if we choose.Fashion Ken, do you have a frequently asked question that you would like to address?
How about this as a topic? What I would like to talk about is how can we get the casinos to host more BJ tournaments and the ones they do host letting "ALL THE PLAYERS PLAY IN". I am not barred from any casinos, but I am still penilized (all of us) when we play in most tournaments now days because they are not filled up. The entry fees are the same, yet the prize money goes down. I don't have a problem with the casinos paying based on the number of entries and reentries, what I have a problem with is having the players willing to pay their entry fees to play and the casinos not allowing them. Yes, Cheaters do not need to be allowed, but who cares about anyone else. Let every card counter in the world play in the tournaments if they will fill them up, (just more money for the winners). Jimmy Wike (LV Ceasars), Les Thacker (LV Hilton), and Ike (LV New Frontier) still to be the only casino managers with a clue about how to run tournaments for both the players and casinos. If you don't like this topic then I'll vote for Bradley for the GQ award. I think his tie edged you out Ken...LOL
Bradley, yes I'll see you next week at the Hilton. For chat topics, I have a few questions I'd like to pose about some of Wong's examples when two players advance. It had been a while since I last read through his examples, and when I pulled out my copy to study a little before last month's week of fun, I was a little shocked at some of the examples. I found that I disagreed with Wong's bet choice in most of them. If that turns out to be too heavy a topic, we'll just wing it. See you there.
My apologies for not making the chat and for now not being able to play the Hilton this week. A death in the family requires me to fly back to New Jersey for the weekend. On a positive note, in celebration of the living, I will be able to visit with my Father on Father's Day instead of trying to out dress Ken at the Hilton Finals this weekend.
I'm sorry to hear that I'll certainly miss seeing you this weekend. I wish you and your family the best.
