Have played in local tournaments many years ago. Stopped tournament play for a long while. Recently started playing local BJ tournaments in my area again at different casinos. Was able to win 1st place ($10,000) in BJ tournament, at an upper Midwest casino, just before Memorial day. I enjoy reading posts & event info on your site. Thanks for all the info on your site.
It had to be Grand Casino at Hinckley, MN. Reason I know is that I took 3rd place in the same event for 4k. Play was on the Thursday and Friday before Memorial day. That was my first final table in quite some time so it was a much needed confidence builder for me. Billy C

Was the Grand in Hinckley. My first time to final table in a long time also. Just got back into tournament play this past Spring. Played about 2 to 3 smaller tournaments; before getting to that final table with a bigger payout. Made mistakes at final table, but like they say; better to be lucky than good. Congrats Billy C !!

Welcome Doc! This a good place to hang out. If Buffalo Run in Miami, OK isn't farther than you want to travel, it's a good bet that you'd enjoy the tournament on July 28-29. It's everything that Billy's comment above indicates. If you would like to attend, most of the folks on this string will be there and I'm sure we'd all be glad to fill you in on any details you would need to get accommodations and get signed up for an early round.
I agree, we spent yesterday and today there they have the best blackjack rules that I know of between LV and Missippi.

Well, my run at Hard Rock Biloxi ended. Won my table in qualifying round, made through quarterfinal table (easy), and nudged out on last hand of semifinal table. On Last hand, guy next to me had been getting good cards all game, i caught up to him with 2 hands left. Last hand he was first to bet and had big bet, next I also did big bet to beat him, last player to bet had lots less, and went minimum, keeping largest reserve on table. Dealer showing 6; Guy next to me had junk & drew to 13. I had pair 9's and had to ride it out, couldnt split. Dealer had 16, if dealer busts then I win table. She drew a 4, for a 20. Guy with most reserve won. Hindsight sucks! Was fun, now on to french quarter!
