Not that it came unexpectedly but the Government has finally killed off Britain’s first Super-Casino today.

The casino that was to be built in my home city of Manchester will now not happen unless the council can make a legal challenge.

Unfortunately, the Super-Casino was Tony Blair’s idea so when Gordon Brown became Prime Minister he wanted to make his own mark and scrap it.

Gordon now gets rid of a Las Vegas style entertainment complex on moral gambling grounds in order to distance himself from the Tony Blair regime that de-regulated and softened the rules on gaming. But his ideals and morals on gambling suddenly fly out of the window because he has not thought it through and needs to appease voters and various institutions.

    So what does he do?

He announces the opening of another 16 smaller casinos to run along side the existing ones. That’s right he gets rid of one large casino and opens another sixteen?

Off course Prime Minister Brown does not want to come over as a complete idiot so the trade off is that new casino regulations will be brought in. God help us!

Can anyone explain to me what is going on or am I right in my thinking that politicians do not have a clue?

  3. Agreed 90%. Politicians don't have a clue sans one exception. That being whomever or whatever it takes to line their pockets with money.
