I've asked this before. Has Oklahoma changed the laws about giving the money back to the players thru tournaments? Some casinos here don't have tournaments at all. A pit boss told me that they don't have to have tournaments anymore, they just do them for advertisement. I've asked Gaming Commission, but never got an answer. If they keep the money now why do they still have a commission? Anybody here know anything about this?

It's my understanding that they found ways around giving the players pool money back and now using much of the money for advertising.
Still all cash and prize give-a-ways are from the player pool.
I've heard that sponsoring of Pro poker players, sponsorship of NASCAR races,...etc are coming out of the players pool fund.
I know a few casinos (such as Winstar) are trying to close out players from there upcoming BJ tournament unless you are a VIP or lucky enough to win a random drawing for a seat. Which seems very unfair since players pool fund comes from every player that has played at that casino and should be open entry to all players willing to pay an entry fee.

They do use the players pool to pay for just about everything. Take money out to add to the poker room bad beat, pay for every special or promotion, even pay the dealers that work the tournaments. All kinds of crazy rumors. Years ago all table games were shutdown because casinos were keeping the money and not giving it back to the players. So what changed now? Is it the millions Oklahoma makes from the casinos.

    OK casinos

I was told years ago that the OK Casinos on keep the ante for the Casino, the winnings have to go back to the state if they do not use them in marketing promotions like car give aways and tournaments. I think you are seeing less than ever because of the recession.

All the money was suppose to go back to the players. The casinos were to keep the commission only. As TX said they have figured ways of keeping the money for their own use. I know the player pools at some casinos were over $100000 when they stopped showing the player pool totals. The Kiowa casino was over $500000 when they stopped tournaments. A lot of money that never made it back to the players.
