Maybe we should look at a trip involving some Washington tournaments around this date. Anyone up for a BJT field trip?

    Decisions, Decisions

I'm already entered in the Las Vegas Hilton suited blackjack tournament for May 30th but think I will cancel to play in the Oregon UBT event. Count me in for the Washington State field trip as I'm already here.

    hi ken:
we are in wa. state for 13 days. just drove by spirit mtn. wed. on my way to wa. fyi, one can play 13 tourneys in a weeks time, (pushing it a little). you can also play several pai gow tourneys in the afternoon. iron horse casino in, auburn, wa. will have the biggest purse during that time period that you might be here (1st thurs. of the month). i would suggest emailing bob (rebuy) swanson. he has set up a lot of tourneys in this area. in fact, last nite we played a MIDNITE tourney at the treasure casino that he runs. he has a fact sheet, called the tourney turkey that has all the local tourneys listed. just email him at rebuybob@comcast.net.

if you do not get a responce, from bob, for some reason we will see him tonite as well as the rest of the week. only will play one tourney tonite, out of a choice of three. two in everett and one in federal way. forty miles or so between the two sites from where we are staying.

i guess you can say that we have this area figured out. there are few new tourneys that were added since the last time that we were here. which, is great for the players.

also we will be living in wa. for at least thru the summer months, starting in june. so, it you need any other info we are here to help

    how far to Portland?

I wonder how far that casino is from downtown Portland? I have a very close & longtime friend who is the GM of some big hotel there, he'd likely be willing to help out with some room deals for y'all.

spirit mtn. casino, is around 60 -65 miles south of portland. one takes highway 99w, which turns into highway 18. easy drive and easy to find. the casino has a hotel and there is lodging, west in lincoln city, which is right on the ocean. plus lincoln city has the chinook winds casino, sitting right on the beach.

Isnt this the area the Coast Guard teaches its hard core search and rescue teams ? LOL. Beautiful area that adds lots of value to the travels.

    Oregon and Washington...

I've heard both Oregon and Washington are beautiful, now add in blackjack tournaments and that will be a hard offer to turn down.

The only problem with this plan is that I believe the next week-long Oklahoma events at Cherokee will be just prior to the Oregon UBT circuit event. That could make extending the trip a problem.

WildWoods, do we have definite dates yet for Cherokee?

    hi barney;

where you are talking about, is close to lincoln city. they have bar ( not drinking ones) practice at winchester bay, just own the coast. they at one time tested their 44 ft life boats on winchester bay bar. believe life magazine did a article in yester-years.

yes, it is some of the beauitful coastline in the world, having seen it from the land side and being a commerical fisherman for about 30 years. traveled up and down the western coast. i would rank the that area as one of the finest. take care.

  14. a fun stop

For those of you who have never visited Oregon, you are in for a treat. The weather is beautiful that time of year and Spirit Mountain is one of the friendliest casinos on the planet.

Sadly, it appears that the Spirit Mountain UBT event has been cancelled.

received an email from spirit mtn., sort of explaining the reason for not having the tourney. looks like they did not want to commit to an ubt contract, if they did not get a certain amount of players for their tourney to cover their expences. would have been a good tourney to play, if they would have chosen to put it on.

chinook winds casino, which is on the beach in lincoln city ore., (close to spirit mtn casino, that backed out of the ubt tourney in may), is having a bj tourney, april, 27-29th. have not got the details, but heard it was a 30k. maybe k. blackwood might know more details about this that i do for now.
