$ 50,000 tournament 12 tables 72 entrants -3 players move on to round 2 from each table
each payer gets $2000 chips and 30 hands
MINIMUM BET $ 25 per hand MAXIMUM BET $ 500 per hand for 30 hands
How much should you bet each hand-idea is to last 30 hands and move on to round 2 -3 players
move on from each table of 6

It's hard to give specific advice about a given tournament without having played it. In general, there are a couple of things to keep in mind, given the information you have posted.
    • Since it's 3 advancing from 6, you can afford to be conservative for a while to see if 3 other players will self destruct. Bet minimum while playing this waiting game. Stop waiting for this to happen if no one is betting big or when you find yourself in any of the positions below.

    • If you fall behind BR3 (the player in 3rd place) by more than a max bet and he is betting small, then immediately start betting max in order to try to catch up. You can afford to do this because the max (500) is relatively small compared to your bankroll (2000).

    • When in an advancing position, try to approximately match the bets of the players behind you.

    • When the final hand arrives you should either be in an advancing position or you should have busted out trying.

These are some general suggestions only. Detailed strategy would require a book (there are several) and/or careful reading of the forums and articles found on this site.

    Good luck!

When three advance from a table of six or less you'll almost never go with an aggressive betting strategy in the early to middle rounds. If three are advancing from seven you'll usually be conservative unless several other factors combine to favor a more aggressive strategy.

The relatively long 30-hand round in your tournament favors a conservative approach as well. The starting bankroll of four maximum bets favors a more aggressive approach. Weighing all these factors if I were playing that one I'd be a tightwad even if it paid 2:1 on blackjacks.

A word of warning about three-advance tables: If it gets down to five players and there are still several hands left, pay very careful attention to your opponents' chip stacks and how many hands are left. It becomes a very simple problem for the three who are in good shape to make sure they stay ahead of at least two opponents. They start correlating the short stacked players, who are then forced to compensate. I've been in many of these three-advance tables where everyone busted out except the three winners before the end of the round. Don't be one of the two that busts out early because you let yourself get too far behind.
