Best bet ever is a WINNER!

This was the first bet I posted under Ricks Picks this year and with only two games left in the season and Detroit only with two wins, the best they could end up with is four wins making them a loser by at least half a game.
Hope several of you were able to lay the bet before the beginning of the season!

    Vikings-Bears

How do you see this one? Favre has been bad in cold weather for the last 4 years and the shores of Lake MI will be that way tonight.
As bad as the Bears (Cutler) are, them and 7 points gets my bet!

    Billy C

P.S. What about MY Badgers at Miami (Orlando) tomorrow night?

    Sorry Billy C.

I liked Chicago at home in big rival game. This is Chicago's Superbowl, the only thing they have left to play for this season.

For tomorrow I like Wisconsin plus the points, but more like a home game for Miami.

    Looks like Wisconsin tonight...

Looks like your team and my pick is going to hit tonight (unless Miami makes a comeback in the 4th).

I think the best bowl game pick will be TCU over Boise St.
TCU could easily be playing for the National Championship and would have a GREAT chance of winning regardless who they played. Don't be surprised to see TCU win by 17 points or better.

    NFL playoffs

Why not go out on a limb Tex? My guesses are--------

Week one-Eagles over Cowboys, Packers over Cardinals, Jets over Bengals and Ravens over Pats

Week two-Packers over Vikings, Eagles over Saints (yes the # 1 and 2 seeds fall in their first games), Colts over Ravens and Chargers over Jets

Week three-Packers over Eagles (-30 degrees in Green Bay!) and Chargers over Colts

Super Bowl-------MINUS 29 degrees in Miami and the Packers win!!!!!!!!

How could you not go with this logic?

    My Superbowl picks

Dallas and San Diego and Dallas wins on the rematch. Dallas is peaking at the right time and their defence is playing the best of any of the teams right now.

The Eagles/Cowboy game will by far be the best game next weekend. I respect the coach and talent of the Eagles, but I'll still take Dallas but in a closer game then yesterday.
I'm sorry but I think a Warner lead Arizona team will win over a very good Green Bay team.
I like NE over Balt. and I'm going with Cinicy over NYJ, but this game scares me the most after the way they played last night.

I'll hold off on the following weeks picks until we know who is playing for sure.

    Hat's off to Boise St.

I thought TCU would blow Boise St. away, I predicted TCU by 17 or better. TCU came out flat and never seem to get on track until they were down by 10, but you gotta hand it to Boise St. They came to play and once again pulled out another Fiesta Bowl win on a trick play.

Looking forward to seeing both teams next year, only about 4 - 5 starters off each team won't be returning.

    Could happen!

After the way the bowl games have gone there will be many "down Texans" if the Eagles beat the Cowboys tomorrow night.

Been worried about that since TCU fell...

You're right Billy C., I thought TCU was our sure thing. I thought Texas had a good shot, but wasn't sure who would win that game. Texas put up a good fight the 2nd half but I figured Texas was in trouble once McCoy went down.

Dallas is peaking at the right time, but the Eagles are a good team. If the Cowboys win tomorrow it won't be as easy as last weeks game.

Should all three fall in the same week it will be sad times around here...lol

    NFL playoffs

Considering I picked all 4 "dogs" I guess 50% success rate isn't bad. Only "dog" I'll take next is Dallas and I'll go big there (money line). I don't see the Vikings even being in that game.
Otherwise I go with the favorites (Saints, Colts and Chargers). My "revised" Super Bowl matchup is Cowboys-Chargers. Sorry Tex but Chargers win SB!
My minus 29 temperature prediction for Miami even looked possible!

    Not sure about New Orleans

Billy C. I like your picks, but not sure if New Orleans get by Arizona. NO has been playing bad last 3 weeks of the season, that game could go either way.

I like Dallas this weekend, but Peterson, not Farve scares me a little. Farve has always had trouble against Dallas and Cowboys rush vs. his age doesn't play weel for Minn.

I do agree on your Superbowl pick's, (both teams I picked). But I still think Dallas bets San Diego in a rematch from about 6 weeks back where SD won by 3.

Ok, I will chime in here.....Just remember that the Vikings are 8-0 at home AND their last three losses were all on the road (Arizona, Carolina, and Chicago). Yeah, I know the Cowboys are on a roll and the Vikings only have one win in the last month, but there is NO WAY I would play the money line in that game.

I still like the Colts minus the 6 1/2 points and the UNDER 57 in Saints/Cardinals game.

I can see your reasoning Pal. I do very little sports betting because my heart gets in my head's way at times.
Admittedly the "Favre thing" is BIG with Packer fans. You wouldn't believe how polarizing it has been!
You COULDN'T find a bigger Favre fan than me three years ago. Packer's management could have handled the whole deal better, no doubt. But the fact remains that he jerked the team around for three years by retiring and unretiring how many times. That cost him the respect of MANY fans. If he didn't learn anything from that and jerks the Vikings around the same way you will understand what I'm saying.
The man has done a lot for the NFL and for the most part has handled himself quite admirably. He has set astonishing records (many that I hope he keeps building on).
My "head" says this-----if the Vikings win it will be more a result of Adrian P's
    impact than Brett's.
Have to tell you that I don't have one of the shirts that says "we'll never forget you BRENT" but they're selling good in these parts.
A-Rod's numbers were very comparable to Favre's this year and, with the age advantage being what it is, we are more than happy to have him.
Can I hit you up for a loan if Vikes win??????

Yeah, I am back! 2010 is going to be a great year for me! Couldn't get any worse!

Sure wish the casino's in MN had Sports betting. Right now we have to deal with a guy from IBM (Illegal Bookmaker).

Billy C., I agree with what you say about Favre. Let's be honest it's his team, he is running the show, not Brad Childress. I think the Cowboys have a chance, all I am saying is take the points and don't be the money line. In their eight home wins, they have outscored the opposition 33-16. If you wanna play the Cowboys, I would take the points and not the moneyline.

    Picks

Curious if anyone that engages in sportsbetting "buys" picks from the handicappers? Was thinking about subscribing to one of the services and wanted other's opinions. Feel free to post or shoot me a PM.
