Say a Prayer for me

Feeling miserable with a sore foot I decide to go and meet my old school friends to have a few pints in the pub. I am supposed to go away this weekend with my mate but a lot of walking is involved so need to ring him the next day and tell him that I can’t go.

After a shed full of beer I ring a taxi to go home. The Asian driver drops me off at home and I give him a decent tip. Maybe he senses that I am not on top form. He then calls me back over to the cab, thanks’ me and says “I will pray for you Andy”. The funny thing is that he just does that and I watch as he spends a moment in his car praying. I need all the help that you can get these days and a Muslim Prayer would not go amiss (Every funeral I have attended recently I have noticed that I am getting closer to the front…lol).

So what has this to do with Blackjack?

I decide that this is the night to withdraw money from my BJ internet account. Easy putting it in, but from past experience and not even being from the USA it can still be difficult to get your money out.

I like round figures but notice that I am a few pounds short of £500. Just need to win one tourney to make it up.

You guessed it. Trying to win a few pounds I lost it all. The Blackjack Gods did not shine on me. I would like to blame it on alcohol but must of my winnings also come from when I am playing under the influence.

I go to bed thinking of my Asian Taxi driver and so much for the, power of prayer which appears to have jinxed me.

The next morning I wake up still questioning myself about playing those high stake games, being stupid and chasing money and losses.

I pace around the house and notice that my foot is no longer sore and that I am walking okay so don’t need to telephone my mate to cancel the weekend.

Maybe he prayed for my health and not wealth?

    Hmm…..Spooky

    Gaming and Alcohol

    I take your point Billy.

However, I think that Las Vegas casino operators will beg to differ on that one.
