I didn't pay much attention to the dates on the freerolls. They're finished already. I guess you'll have to pay the $250 entry fee for the main event now.
Ken, usually charity tourneys have a very bad EV, the charity normally keeps 75% or more of the entry fees. On their website there is no mention of $100,000 for first. It states "One lucky winner will earn our Grand Prize- a guaranteed cash payout. Many others will receive exciting gifts provided by our many sponsors" A winner take all tourney, unless you are a local it is not worth the money, time, or trouble. If you want to donate just send the money to them and save your airfare.
It's for charity That is the point of a charity event, to raise money for the charity not the players.
Charity I don't think pokernut's post disagreed with yours if I read it correctly. He seemed to state if expenses (airfare etc.) to attend are cost prohibitive it is better to just donate to the charity.
