It is with great sadness that I deliver this news, Tom Karll, TGUN passed away peacefully on the 22nd of January 2019. He was and avid and very smart card player and was friends to many in the tournament circuit. He brought back the camaraderie of playing in the tournaments he played. He will surely be missed. RIP Tom..."We are better people to have known and had you in our lives." Jascan
I'm very sorry to see this news. I first met Tom and his wife at a tournament at Meskwaki Casino in Tama, IA a dozen years ago or so. More recently they were both playing in the events at Buffalo Run. Both really nice people. My sincere condolences to his wife. If memory is correct, her name is Jan. Billy C
RIP ,TGUN...sorry to hear, remember watching him play in tunica at Fitz and Sams Town back when, at Buffalo Run lately ,,,he had a good game plan,,,,so did Mrs TGUN [ Jan ] , Oct tournament was hers at Buffalo Run ,, First Place
I am very sorry to lose a good friend and a great tournament competitor. I will miss seeing him at Buffalo Run in April.
Awwwwww, geez, another one of the really good guys gone. Like BillyC, I think I first met him at Meskwaki. A fiercely skilled competitor who was always happy to be reunited with his BJT friends. Damn.......
We've lost so many friends over the past few years that will be sorely missed and Tom is certainly no exception. He and Jan have a lot of history with so many of us, going back to when the "St Louis Mafia" had a large contingent of active members competing in Blackjack tournaments all over. I too first met them at Meskwaki, and later had the opportunity to get to know Tom and Jan at those above mentioned Fitz and Sams Town Tunica events and most recently at Buffalo Run. A fond recollection is of how we really got to know each other during the many hours Tom, Jan and I spent at the VP machines upstairs at Sams Town. My sincere condolences to everyone who will miss their fiend Tom, and especially to Jan - His true partner for so long.
Oh my, what another devastating loss. Tom was just wonderful to be around. Jan, our thoughts are with you and your family.
Oh, no... I've known Tom for many years. I first met Tom very early in my career - probably 2005 - and have been friends ever since. Tom was a great player and a great guy. My condolences to Jan and best wishes. Tom will be missed.
I thought you might want to have the following: The information at the funeral home site is very hard to find and it's quite lacking, and the information shown in the Post Dispatch is also, but if you'd like to leave a note for Jan there seems to be a place there for that. https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/stltoday/obituary.aspx?n=thomas-l-karll&pid=191374144&fhid=5885 https://www.kutisfuneralhomes.com/13369
