TJBPA - Las Vegas

In November the Las Vegas Hilton will be hosting their $30,000 blackjack tournament on the 8th - 10th, followed by their "Suited Blackjack" tournament on the 10th - 13th.

And as of today, those events will be followed by our first TBJPA - Las Vegas events on the 13th - 16th at the Tropicana.

Because of the other two events already scheduled in Las Vegas the TBJPA will only host two TBT events, (one on the 14th and one on the 15th) for a total of four tournaments. However we will be hosting satellites on the 13th for both of the TBT events.

These TBT events will have a $300 + $30 entry and I have been assured that the Tropicana will be helping us promote these events, so with some of their players along with the carry over of players from the LV Hilton events we should have a good showing in November.

I told everyone before, I will try and schedule all TBJPA/TBT events with other events to help cut down on travel expenses.

I'm not sure of the cost yet, but as always the TBJPA has gotten all the players discounted hotel rooms at our host property (casino rates). As soon as I find out the prices I will post them, I also have American airline discounts as well I'll be posting soon.

As you can guess I am pretty excited about our first Las Vegas casino and I have been ask to send information on our TBJPA/TBT events to three other casinos (in two other states then the ones we are already hosting events in).

Hopefully the TBJPA we'll be added more locations in the coming months.

    Congrats...

    Rick:

Fantastic News!! Congratulations! I think that your hard work, due diligence and outright stick-to-it-ness is going to reap some huge dividends for those of us who love playing YOUR TOURNAMENTS with YOUR UNIQUE FORMAT.

As the word continues to get out, your business will blossom into what you have envisioned...

I look forward to seeing everyone for the "Tournament at the Tropicana"! Since it's going to be HERE in LAS VEGAS, you should draw a BIG crowd of participants. I'll be sure to get the word out to all of the "Regular Local Tournament Junkies"!! It won't take long to do that either.

    Great news Rick!!

    Keep your fingers crossed...

Thanks Counselorlee, I'd love to host some TBJPA events down there, but if thing go well the TBJPA may be hosting events at not one but two casinos within driving distance for you.

And Pokernut will be happy I (IF) finally get west of Nevada...LOL

Both are still in the works, but we at least have the doors open.

    Rick,

Congratulations on your efforts and success, tournaments that fall between mini's and invitationals are a welcome addition to tournament opportunities we've lacked in recent history.

Shame on anyone that doesn't attend TBJPA events and complains about not being able to compete in invitational events, this is your chance.

Discount room rates for November TBJPA/TBT events

It was just brought to my attention that The Comedy Festival will be go on Nov. 14th - 17th in Las Vegas while we are holding the TBT events.

Because of this hotel rates go up (as always when a convention or special event is in town), however all TBJPA members will still be getting discounted rates at the Tropicana during November 13th - 15th.

I am suppose to get the discount code and prices tomorrow and will post them as soon as they give them to me.

I'll also re-post the American Airlines discount code for November (every little bit helps).

    Tropicana discount code

Here is the discount code for the Tropicana TBJPA/TBT events November 13th - 16th.

Call 1-800-521-8767 and use discount code TBJPA07.

The rate you will get is $60 per night in for the Island tower or $80 per night in the Paradice tower. Both offer large savings over the regular room prices. I was also told that if there wasn't a convention in town that week we could have received lower rates.

I hope to have an American Airlines discount before the end of the week.

    Good, bad, ugly?

Does anyone know from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE how good, bad or ugly the Paradise Tower rooms are? From reading a few reviews online, I won't even consider the other two options.

Rick, I'm excited to find out about your first tournament in Las Vegas. I happened to have been going to Las Vegas around that time anyway. I was already booked for a trip arriving on the 14th at 7pm. So I'll probably miss the tournament on the 14th (unless you can hold off from starting it until about 8pm). :) But definitely count me in for the one on the 15th.

    Been a few years

Ted, it was about 2004, the last time I stayed at the Tropicana, but the rooms were fine back then. They are not a 4 diamond hotel, but nice.

I'm glad you'll be making at least one of the TBJPA/TBT events. Looking forward to meeting you in November.

    New code...

I just received a call from the Tropicana. The code orignally given to me will not fit in the reservation system.

The new code will simply be: TBJPA07

This new code should be in there system by tomorrow.

    Sorry for any inconvenance.

    Refrigerators

I did learn today that the Paradice towers have refrigerators in the rooms. I was told that is the only real difference between the Island and Paradice towers.
